This block used to house a PCF play school. I am unable to find it on Google Maps. So, this review is about that play school. We are expats from India. We used to send our little girl to that play school, and made the mistake of enrolling her in the morning class, primarily meant for Chinese and Malay children (that timing was more convenient for us). The afternoon class is for others. My girl was the only Indian in the morning class. My little one used to come and regularly narrate stories about attitudes, which we adults recognised as somewhat racist, from Chinese and Malay "teachers." One most egregious example is when a Malay "teacher" Hafiza came to know my young son's name (say ABC) from our girl, and in class she went, "ABC is an idiot, ABC is an idiot," for reasons which are beyond me, to cheers from the other children. Even the little children used to treat my little girl differently, but how much can I blame young ones. I blame their upbringing. Anyway, after the last racist episode, I had enough and went over to request the "principal" to shift my girl to the afternoon class, telling the reason. She was adamant that the request could not be entertained, with a clear attitude implying that I was free to take out my girl, and they did not care. I took out my girl right that very instant. Luckily, I was scheduled to leave Singapore in six more months, so this had no effect on my girl's future schooling back home.
