★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such flats built in the 1980s and older all have so many problems especially the soundproofing. Floor slabs were built so thin, you can hear all sort of noises from your neighbours such as water pressure noise when they turn on their taps, heavy walking footsteps noise, fidgeting their keys or something noises... Not forgetting, water seepage is also one of the common problems too!
These old and lousy quality flats are long due for demolition and not keep upgrading...
One more to mention, falling spalling concrete is one of the lurking potential killer...
Think twice before you decide to buy old flats and good luck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All the old flats across Singapore were built with subpar materials and specifications. Soundproof is a major problem in these old n deteriorating flats, no upgrading can help to resolve this problem but demolition.
These flats should be pulled down and build new ones for the poor people still suffering from these defective buildings!
