★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very special and delicious min Jiang kueh that has Ambon kueh characteristics. Love their smooth red bean filling that tasted complex with the brown sugar that they used.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique little MJK stall in the Bugis area. Fluffy pancakes with both classic and interesting fillings - personal favorite is the peanut! The matcha and taro are perfect for midday snacks as well. Do swing by to give them a try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The stall I bought from is at Crawford Lane. Can't find it on map. Anyway just wanna pay justice to the correct person.
The stall is run by a young couple. They are so nice to allow me to mix my favorite combi of peanut and coconut. While the taste is like any normal pancake, thumbs up to the couple.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I reached this place about 255pm just to try my luck as I saw the stall will close at 3 but they were still selling the pancakes. It wasn't really difficult to find this place though there are 2 coffeeshops that stretch and this stall is in the same one at the Purmei lor mee, just that it's at the corner you really need to walk towards the end of the coffee shop to see it.
They still had quite a bit of pancakes on display and I picked the matcha and taro one. Not sure what was wrong with the combination but the guy selling was surprised and replied with a "oh wow". I guess he might be thinking of people ordering the more standard ones like peanut or red bean, but I was like who would travel so far to eat something which is available everywhere?
Anyway the pancake was placed in a plastic bag which was pretty nice printed with the name of the shop, so I sat down at the coffee shop to enjoy the pancakes. For the price I won't say its expensive given the flavours I picked was rather less commonly found. The pancakes were nicely displayed on a bright lighted shelf which makes it quite appealing.
Speaking about taste, I would say the pancakes seem to be more on the chunky side, denser than the normal ones, so it wasn't really my liking. Initially I thought the slice didn't look quite big so it won't be filling but the denseness did. Not sure also but I felt saltiness on the pancakes, definitely not the buttery kind but like added too much salt. It didn't occur on the entire pancake but like 1 bite on the entire slice. The taro and the matcha filling is kinda interesting, not like the thick and dry kind like the red bean, but more like the thick and gluey kind which I felt was better and more enjoyable.
Worth a try, especially if you are looking for something more funky. I think they have savoury ones too but just had to pick 2 of my most favourite flavours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Update: Great variety of pancakes offered but most of the flavors are sorely lacking. The cheese had a nice smoky flavor. Sesame can be a tad dry. Matcha was average and the butter sugar was the worse of the lot. The whole pancake was just bland and there was barely any flavors from the non existent butter nor crunch from the sugar.
Soft pancakes with a variety of old school and trendy flavours (matcha and yam). Prices can be on the higher side depending on the flavours you choose.
The yam variation was good - soft and very creamy. The chocolate one was nothing special to shout about.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first time trying today. Very average. The taro flavor was just sweet without taro fragrance or taro bits. I usually dig out excess fillings at most other stalls but this one had the opposite problem. The pancake was also served at room temperature when I went at 10am and was a bit gummy / dense. Should have known it wasn't good when the coffee shop was packed with breakfast goers but no one else was eating or ordering this

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good texture similar to bika ambon kueh. I ordered the chunky peanut butter flavour to try. The crushed peanuts are crunchy with some sugar crunch. The pieces looks small but it’s actually pretty filling.
