β β β β β You can expect superb customer service, and extreme price transparency unlike many other photography shops. This place also houses the most comprehensive set of inventory, and I strongly recommend you stop by if you need anything and everything photography related. However, be ready to pay a slight price premium for your purchases. That said, more than willing to given how convenient and customer service oriented these guys are.

β β β β β My favourite photo equipment store - highly recommend all the staff and in particular Kelvin has been a great honest guy to deal with over the years. Great selection of gear, yes it is a little more expensive but you pay for the quality and assurance that you won't be ripped off and you will be looked after

β β β β β Timmy was helpful in explaining the pros and cons of the different camera backpacks. Assisted with laying out and opening the display bags for observation and discussion. Keep up the good work !

β β β β β Staff in general do not seem to care. Poor service quality, enquired in-store about a Hassy 907x and was not given proper service. Called back later at 6:17PM and asked about arranging delivery for the same day / Sunday but was told it was not possible by a sales staff just just seemed interested in ending his work day.

β β β β β Was looking to get a lens recently, called a few shops but decided to go with cathay photo since they've generally been good in the past. The AF had some issues however, so I emailed them and they said to either bring it to them or straight to the service centre(this was within the 7 day period).
I initially went to the service centre, however there was no one there and I needed to rush back to my office, so I decided to bring it over to Cathay instead. When I got there I asked if I could pass it to them instead since I was in a rush, however they did not seem interested in helping or even listen about the problem with the lens and kept saying I should just bring it to the service centre.
Why even have a 7 day shop warranty if you're not going to honor it? And why tell me I can bring it to you to you guys if you're just going to tell me to go to the service centre when i'm there?

β β β β β Recently bought a camera pouch from them (Lazada) and it was the wrong size. They happily exchanged it in store for me after processing the return on Lazada. Good experience there.
Thinking that I had a great experience, I thought I would go back to buy a CPL for my trip. I bought a Hoya fusion one that was supposedly βmarked downβ from 200 dollars to 152. They also said itβs Hoyaβs latest model and that the one I was actually inquiring about was subpar. After just returning from my trip, I looked into their claims and found the following:
1. Thereβs a steep mark-up on their prices. Even their βsale priceβ is 40 dollars more than actual asking at other camera retailers and some official Hoya resellers.
2. Their staff is full of baloney. This is the 2019 model. Their was indeed a new model (released earlier this year), an upgrade to the one I bought and the exact one I inquired about which they made it sound like did not exist and I was looking at subpar models.
For those curious, I purchased the βHoya fusion oneβ and the new model is βHoya fusion one next.β

β β β β β I've been going to Cathay Photo for as long as I can remember and every time I visit, I have always been impressed with their impeccable service and my most recent visit was no different.
I inquired about a Canon EOS C70 and the EOS R5 C and the salesperson who attended to me was incredibly professional and knowledgeable with the products in question and even highlighting the pros and cons of each product to guide me into the most suitable product.
Cathay Photo has an astonishing catalogue of products ranging from little bitty microSD cards to flagship professional video camcorders and tripods sturdy enough to support a tank on one leg. You name it, they have it.
Look no further than Cathay Photo for your photo/video needs because this is the ultimate place to get your stuff.
100/100 fully recommended!
