Went down to the shop recently. Was looking to buy a lens for an old film camera. As it was an old camera, there were many enquiries with regards to the compatibility of the lenses available with the camera. After waiting for 30mins waiting for service, I enquired about the item i was looking for. And the reply i got was, you can go and look outside by yourself, everything is outside. I let this off the first time as I didnt notice take a look around the shop. When i asked again, the staff told me, how about you take a look on our carousell and see if the thing you want can be found there. I was waiting for my chance to ask about my doubts but there wasnt any chance. As there was only 1 staff and a few customers waiting. I finally got my opportunity to ask about my enquiries, I was pushed off with a β€˜Do your own research online, im very busy okay’ I understand that you are busy and understaffed, but is this really how a customer should be treated? And for a shop that is severely overpriced, i would suppose that customer service would be better. However, it was the complete opposite. I guess that the attitude of the staff reflects on the prices listed. It also isnt any customers fault that the shop is not able to hire extra hands in the shop. If it really is that tough to run a business without getting angry with customers, then maybe something should be done. Wouldnt recommend anyone new to cameras to visit this shop as your queries wouldnt be answered and you might face unfair treatment compared to people who knows their stuff.

Avoid this shop. Really weird owner. I walked in, looked at something. He said to me β€œbe careful”. While walking over to inspect the item I just touched. It’s like he hate people and you are bothering him. Just go somewhere else. Unless being unwelcome is something you enjoy.

I have absolutely nothing nice to say about Black Market Camera. I merely approached the shopkeeper to ask politely if he buys used cameras. Instead of answering a simple Yes or No or Come back later, he just pointed to their opening hours on the door and repeatedly yelled '1230pm' before shutting the door in my face. I have had another bad encounter with this shop before but thought maybe it was just a one-off situation or he just had a bad day. But after this second encounter and reading so many negative reviews up here, I think we should instead support shops like The Camera Workshop (TCW) and P&G Cameras on Level 1 (See attached photos) or just shop on Carousell. TCW genuinely wants to do business and their shopkeepers are helpful and friendly. Hi BCM, we all have bad days. May peace be with you. You can always wind down if you are unhappy running this shop :)

tried communicating with them via carousell despite all the negative reviews as their prices are really quite attractive. no replies at all. sad really because their shop is stocked with so many gems but the owner’s alleged attitude problem was really a turn off and would rather buy at higher prices with better service. the camera shops at L1 are all great so don’t need to bother to go all the way up to L3 for this place.

Possibly the worse experience at a shop I've ever had Literally asked the Store Manager/Cleaner/Cashier etc., (that's what he told me in a condescending way) to assist me in unlocking the locks placed on the items so that I can purchase it. Didn't expect to be lectured that I'm in the wrong. I'm just doing what a customer does man I just wanna buy my ND filter Major Red Flag on this store ? Don't go here unless you want to have a life changing experiece (not in a good way)

Attitude cannot be worse as others have pointed out. My first visit several years ago was bad. I had hoped that my second visit two weeks ago would be better, and the attitude was the same. Moreover I am not new to cameras, good luck to newbies. Went to my regular The Camera Workshop, and was served with professionalism and enthusiasm. Other shops were also not too bad...this is as usual the worst. Tbh, I cannot comment on their products as I could not even bring myself to buy anything from them.

I asked if they carried a few products, and the guy at the counter told me they do. When I asked if they had a price list, he told me, "if you're just checking the price then it's out of stock". He then repeatedly told me about "shortages" they were facing, even though it would have taken less time and effort to simply check the prices for me. Makes no sense from a business point of view, and definitely wasn't a good experience here. How am I supposed to buy something if I don't know the price? Not to mention the unfriendly tone of voice I faced too.

Good assortment of used cameras (both film and digital, all brands) Lenses too, various mounts. Prices more or less OK. Interesting though, when asked to try camera from the shelf, vendor declined to do so, due to "store policy" . Kinda strange.
