Cheng Ji Chao Xia Mian Hao Jian - 2 Seah Im Rd

I was here again around 4pm++ on a weekday to order a plate of Oyster fried egg omelette ( no flour; purely egg) at $6 . It consists of at least 12 oysters ( I purposely counted) and had a crispy “wok hei” fried aroma . Chilli sauce was good with a little sourish aftertaste. But I manage to get additional pair of chopsticks! Terms & conditions stated : 1 person 1 plate /no extra plate given or additional chopsticks given ( no sharing I assume - unless u dun mind sharing and eating yr food from the same plate with yr foodie partner). Don’t order wrongly — ppl tend to mix up with oyster omelette ( with flour & little egg ) $3 with lesser oysters. Last but not least: auntie’s attitude was friendly and good service and smiley! — asking me ”小妹要order 什么？“ I am not sure about other poor reviews HERE . But perhaps there were miscommunication or there is another auntie taking over the nite shift here.

S$3 for this plate of Hokkien mee. Is my favourite stall here, no pork lard, so is more like homely style but is tasty. I always order this when I come to this area. ? the female boss might be quite unfriendly but the uncle is polite. ? ,. Their food is cheap, oyster egg from $3, ban mian with prawn is only S$3. ,. And please note they don’t allow extra chopstick so if you want share, get your utensil somewhere else where you order other food ?. Review written on my IG: Yummymich

One of the worst hokkien mee I've ever tried. Super dry, no lard, not much taste EVEN HAVE A PIECE EGG SHELL THAT CHOKED MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. Highly not recommended

Oyster omelette was too oily, despite asking for less oil. I managed to get 2 pairs of chopsticks for this dish. Next, I ordered Hokkien mee, large portion. Unfriendly lady refused to give me two spoons. What is her issue, I don't understand, because I am not using the disposable spoons. Noodles was way to soggy. I will give my business to a more friendly hawker.

3 stars for the $4 HKM.. with 4 decent size prawn.. ? is good. But little squid.. can add in pork belly slice la..

Horrible. Noodles didn't absorb the flavor of the stock, tasted raw, probably cos they cooked it quickly. Bought $4 version, came with 4 prawns and tiny bits of squid. Sambal is average. Not gonna patronize again.

Ordered 1 plate of "Hao Jian" and 1 plate of "Hokkien Mee". Was given 2 pairs of chopsticks and 1 spoon by the aunty. Requested for 1 more spoon, I was told first told by the aunty "1 plate 1 spoon only" then I waited and looked at her as I ordered 2 plates. Then she added "Hao Jian no spoon given". I replied "oh like that ah". I went back to my seat, finished my food and left the place. For all patrons to decide how is the service....

I last time I had the hockkien Mee at this stall was when harbour front center was called World Trade Center. So can you imagine how long I have not visited this stall. I remember back then this is the only stall I will eat from when I was at Seah Im food center, so you know how good it was. This revisitation does bring back many wonderful memories of the food. In my recent visit I was at the food center early so as to avoid the crowds. When I was there I saw how they prepare the food for the day, it’s like army (Singapore Arm Forces) cook house style. They pre-flies all the noodles and left them standing by the side. When I finally get my food I was still having high expectation, till I get the first mouthful of the noodle. Wow, wow, standard has dropped so much! The prawns are HARD (like left over from yesterday), the food is just warm (not hot like those with wok hey). The noodle must be eaten with the chills or else it will be considered tasteless. The stall operator is also unhelpful, they are not even willing to give an extra pair of chopsticks when I am willing to pay for it. I would love to give the stall a two star rating but I think they only deserve one star after a long deliberation. Will I re-visit? ………. Well, I will venture to taste other foods at the food center the next time I visit.
