Very competitive prices for prescribing spectacles and contact lens. This place gets crowded at times and is popular with students because they have really low starting price.

Fantastic optical shop!! Have been their customer since 20 years. Great service and extremely friendly. Do avoid after office hours cos you can really expect a crowd in the shop and expect to wait.

Times really flies. I remembered I had visited Chew Optics just last year. Yesterday I had gone to Chew Optics again to had my mirrored sunglasses being fixed up. Edwin was very innovative enough to fix my sunglass with his DIY method as the clip has given way. In fact I wanted to get a new sunglass but there was no size that can fit my glass frame. With Edwin's new improvised method, he managed to fixed up my existing clip sunglass at FOC. That shows how he has delighted another loyal customers. It brightens my day. A big THANK YOU , Edwin. I doubt any other optical shops will go that extra miles to entice their customers. Strongly recommend Chew Optics at Bishan to all friends out there. Have a pleasant day ahead. Roi Tan

My first visit to this optical shop. Place is easy to locate. The lady Optician that attend to me is patient and attentive. Also provided me with recommendation and alternatives. Went there in the late morning and was not crowded. Would probably recommend this timing.

Chew's Optics offers probably the most competitive prices out there, at least what I can find. I visited their shop multiple times, knowing that they provide excellent pricing, and most of the time, the end product received was satisfactory. But this time, I felt the need to share my experience with anyone who is thinking of getting a great deal might need to consider a significant risk they may face. My latest experience: The optical shop is usually crowded in the evening (between 5 pm and 6 pm, if you are a corporate slave like myself, this is likely the timing you can visit their shop), you can observe that they are trying to attend to as many people as they can, such as quickly settling existing customers for more incoming customers. This is ideal if you are running an F&B business, speeding up the pace and getting orders clear out as soon as possible. However, for an optical shop, eye products are supposed to be appropriately checked before confirming the order or else unnecessary accidents may occur due to poorly prescribed lenses. Usually, the standard procedure for an eye check is to test the power of your existing glasses, followed by an eye exam. Next, you will be asked to walk around while wearing a funny looking frame with your new prescript lenses to finalise your updated eye power. For my case, the optician rushed through the process and skipped the walk-around part, which I thought was unusual. I was confused and felt something was wrong, but I thought less of it and trusted the optician's skill. After a few days, my glasses arrived. I was shocked and, at the same time, disappointed that the glasses turned out to be very uncomfortable, and I asked if it is normal to feel pain looking through my glasses. In the end, the optician tried to resolve the issue by changing the lens with my old prescription at no charge. I understand running a business is very competitive, and staying profitable needs to be fast and efficient. However, if these factors need to reduce the service quality, in that case, in my opinion, you might need to reconsider the prices you are offering to justify the cost required for better service quality to your customers. Many thanks.
