At four years old, she can recognise more Chinese characters than English words, and I attribute that to the Chinese Wonderland methodologies. I couldn’t ask for a better introduction to her to a second language, from the joy that XuMiao Laoshi injects into her teaching, to the materials that we review together at home. Stories, songs, and ways to relate Mandarin to everyday are all part of each lesson. The Chinese Wonderland group classes are excellent: With a low child to teacher ratio, they actually help her take in more than if she was in a private setting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chinese Wonderland is a fantastic school for those looking for private Mandarin tutoring. I have been studying with Fang Zhixian for 3 years and went from zero to HSK5 (upper-intermediate). The best thing is that you can work out a customized study plan and learn Chinese at your own pace, improving on the areas you need most. Reasonable pricing! Another advantage is a great variety of study materials, including well-known textbooks and some challenging exercise sheets prepared in-house.
