Club Street Wine Room - 87 Club St

Really interesting food here at Club Street Wine Room, absolutely gorgeous plating too. We almost had their whole menu just because everything sounds so good! The Kilpatrick oyster was simply amazing, along with the beef tartare and scallop toast. Woodfired flat bread deserves a huge shoutout just for the bread that was like no other. I found the scallop and prawn Thermidor slightly too salty but man it’s such a pretty dish. Devilled crab is interested, though I will admit I probably liked it only because of its presentation. The biggest disappointment of the night was their T-bone steak. It was dry and not really impressionable at all. Beef fat frites that came with it was good though but we didn’t spend almost $100 for that. I might return again although the price can be a deterrence here. The guy who seems to be manning the place here can be rather arrogant so speak to the very pleasant ladies instead.

We came here for their Sunday roast and left very satisfied. The beef Wellington was good though the standout was their roasted chicken.

We decided to try the 3 course lunch, and overall, it was good. The beef tartare was interesting and was probably my favorite from the set. The grilled fish had a really tasty marinade/sauce, but being an oily mackerel, it was pretty challenging to finish. The beef main was ok, but I'm surprised that I wasn't asked my preference for doneness. It was served medium well, which is definitely more cooked than I would like. The desserts were good, but they could have been half the size. The interior is very modern and minimalist. The bar looked cool with a really nice skylight. Service was attentive and prompt. Between the two wines that we ordered, we really liked the rose.

Amazing food, drinks, and desserts!! The staff is very friendly, attentive, and has great recommendations especially for their wine collection. Ambience feels also private yet cozy and tastefully minimalist.

4.5 stars! Club Street Wine Room (CSWR) is probably one of my fave new joints to date. The decor was somewhat minimalistic with (conversely) a warm and vibrant ambience. As its name suggests, you can definitely find a range of new vs old world wines at CSWR. The somm gave great recommendations instead of getting you the most expensive bottle. I had also thoroughly enjoyed the food during my first visit though felt like a couple of dishes weren’t as delightful the second time round. Nonetheless, still worth the visit and hopefully my third visit back will reinforce my initial thoughts on the food!

Service was good, wine selection was great, but had to take down the average rating due to the food, which was hit and miss. Will suggest to skip the T-bone which was a chore to eat. Seasonal cheese tart was a solid choice for dessert.

Had a good evening drinking wine with two friends. The waitress was very helpful and the recommended the dishes and wine were good. The ambience is chilled and comfortable. We had 2 bottles of wine, the beef tartare toast, the rarebit bread, the prawn and scallop puffs and a chicken dish. Love the beef tartare toast and chicken. Rarebit bread was also a rather interesting and flavourful dish.

Food was good, company better. Ordered too much carbs but we had no regrets. One of the better wine bars with actual attention paid to food. 3.5 stars (since Google doesn't give partial stars)
