Bought the 5 scoop of ice cream with waffle voucher from shopback. Was quite pleased with the purchase thinking it was a steal. The cafe was tucked in a corner of the Grassroots club at AMK. Quite easy to locate. Decided to grab dinner and then waffle as the dessert. We ordered the carbonara pasta and aglio oglio with bacon. However, we soon found out that there was only 1 “stove” within the cafe so that means 1) your clothes will smell and 2) if you come with another person, one of you will eat first and the other will stare in hunger. The pasta was…. edible is the best way i could put it. For $6, i guess you cant complain much? Oddly, for the aglio oglio they substituted chilli padi with pepper. It was just a peppery pasta with bacon… tbh it tasted exactly the same as the carbonara except that carbonara had cream in it. Then came the most anticipated item - the 5 scoops ice cream on a bed of waffle. Gotta give credit where credit is due, the ice cream flavours were interesting and a wide variety. Felt quite excited but should have realised i hyped myself too much because when it arrived, i couldn’t help but feel disappointed. The scoops of ice cream were so darn small! You would think that an item priced at $22+ (original price) would be a more substantial size. Even the street-side uncle selling ice cream on a motorcycle would have given a bigger scoop. While the flavors are interesting, i don’t think it is something i would pay for that price or even halved that price.

Had the baked salmon with rice and gelato on waffle. Salmon is a bit dry unfortunately. Gelato is very nice. Overall definitely value for money.

Food quality is reasonable for the price tag.. However, I’m surprised there is a 10% service charge on every order when the cafe is so small and hardly any service is rendered.. except bringing the food to you. No ice water whatever..

Food is good tasting and value for money. Lost a star due to only one seating arrangement for wheelchair

Amazing waffles and ice cream. The unique gelato flavours are great. I love the dark chocolate and Lavender gelato!! The picture is a pistachio and milk honeycomb gelato, which is also excellent

This place is not exactly accessible. This is located inside the grassroots club, which is a few minutes walk away from Yio Chu Kang MRT. Once you walk up the stairs, turn right and you can see it. Quite obvious with the restaurant sign. Food wise it's considered affordable for western food, especially for students. There is also a student meal for $5.9 only! They also have alcohol, waffles, gelato ice cream, tea/coffee. Giving 5stars because of the very buttery yet crispy waffles. Combined with gelato on top, it's heavenly! Full waffles is only $3.5, and single scoop ice cream is also around that price. The mushroom pizza we got looks slightly disappointing, but the price point and taste made up for it. For the creamy salmon pasta I got, I was disappointed to find only salmon bits, since I was expecting a larger salmon slice instead of bits. but I did find bigger pieces underneath, so all's good. Might come again for the waffles and ice cream! But only if I'm nearby since it is not very accessible.

Very reasonable price for a simple dinner. There's only 10% and no GST. Staff is very friendly. Do come before 6.30pm as it can get crowded after that when parents from the nearby student care bring their kids over for dinner. Which also means this place is popular among kids. One suggestion for parking, park at the public carpark beside the YCK swimming complex and take the back door into grassroot club.
