Excellent Tumeric Laksa. $5 or $7. It’s not the usual laksa we are used to. Texture is more like Mee Rubus but really tasty. I had the $5 and was filled with more than sufficient gravy with boneless chicken, fish cake and otah. Keith, son of the owner who used to work in a restaurant is helping out now. Nice touches and even the spoon and chopsticks were covered up from hygienic consideration. Kudos to Uncle!

Had the bbq chicken turmeric rice and the flavors were soooo good! The sides like the peanut ikan bilis, sambal, achar were fantastic. But the egg otah that came with it was on a whole other level. We didn’t know what it was at first when we ate it, it was just packed full of umami flavor and the shyest member of our family actually went up to ask the uncle serving us what it was; it honestly was just so surprisingly good!! Have been back and the food is just so delicious and comforting each time!!

Nutritious yet tasty. Feels like an underrated gem. The BBQ chicken is really well marinated and the rice is awesome. Good serving of vegetables too. Deserves way more credit.

Photo shows a slightly eaten meal, but I had to upload it. Chanced upon this stall while walking around and decided to try it. $5.80 for a plate of rice with BBQ chicken,, you get a generous amount of chicken, achar, otah, and of course the turmeric rice. This is such a flavourful plate yet does not feel jelat. The chicken had the charred taste, which is amazing. The achar provided a good contrast, and the rice was not overpowering at all, despite being flavoured. The uncle at the stall was nice and generous. The other item on the menu looks tempting. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! Value of money and delicious food, all you can ever ask for when it comes to food.

Keep Calm and Curry On. This place is a hidden gem at Bukit Timah hawker centre. The specialty here seems to be turmeric, which has numerous health benefits. Honestly, my photos don't do justice to the care uncle put into prepping the individual ingredients and balancing the flavours. We took away the beef rendang and bbq chicken set (in photo, after transferring and reheating), with added egg otak. The rice and meat were beautifully spiced and aromatic. For condiments, besides the sambal with peanut and ikan bilis, the pickled carrot strips and pineapple cubes gave some zing and lifted the eating experience. This was our first time encountering a turmeric egg otak, very impressed by how smooth and flavorful it was - it had the same bouncy consistency as the egg portion of a good kueh salat. Can't believe there was no queue at this stall! Well worth the price.

A very nice uncle who gave me some free otah to try with my order. I absolutely loved this value for money plate and the tumeric rice was fragrant and well cooked. I think the chicken could be improved but for 5 bucks a plate this is a great and hearty meal and it is evident the amount if effort and ingredients that went into this plate.

Chanced upon a very unique stall called β€œCurry On”! The owner previously worked as a chef in various hotels before setting up a stall selling several dishes at Maxwell market, before coming over to Bukit Timah market to set up this stall specialising in just 2 key dishes: Turmeric Laksa and BBQ Chicken with Turmeric Rice and Curry. As you can tell, both dishes uses turmeric as a key ingredient, which is known for bringing in tons of health benefits! This turmeric laksa is the best of its kind i’ve ever tried, and really sets the standards high up for other places selling this dish. The gravy is super thick, and heavily emphasises on the usage of lemongrass (you can see bits of it within the gravy). It doesn’t give off the same strong β€œlemak” coconutmilk taste as found in regular laksas, has a slightly more sourish note, and the taste is really similar to a thai dish called Kanom Jeen Nam Ya! The spice level is also very tolerable, it doesn’t hit you immediately but instead creeps up on you the more you slurp up the gravy soaked thick white beehoon, which is cooked just right. The accompanying ingredients: fishcakes, chicken meat and taugei were also very generous, especially the handmade otah-egg mixture which had a softer mouthfeel and spice-packed flavour compared to regular otahs. Just when I thought the laksa was enough to fulfil such a satisfying lunch, here comes the BBQ chicken w turmeric rice and curry..the BBQ-style chicken slices are tender, juicy, and oh-so flavourful with the prominence of wokhei/charred taste the more you chew through the meat. the turmeric-coloured rice is unlike those usual western stalls where the rice is just coloured yellow with no flavour. instead, the rice was super flavourful with the addition of curry!! achar is more on the sweeter side, but it worked great as a palate cleanser. the sambal was also very flavourful but i didn’t take much of it cuz the dish was already stellar on its own? likewise, the same tasty steamed otah-egg mixture is also provided here~ overall, these 2 dishes may sound plain, but both were so well-executed and literal flavour bombs that i regret only trying this out now despite visiting the market for almost a decade. will be back tmr and on a more frequent basis to savour these 2 hearty meals again!?

First.. Blame it on my photography skill. Shine by opposite crowd Q Koay Chap stall, this stall has its own outstanding way. Written all the benefit of Tumeric and Lemongrass in cooking, which creates their own signature menu. I had the BBQ Chicken on Tumeric rice. I don't taste the overempowering flavor lemongrass and Tumeric, but it's GOOD! The rice is piping hot, even when I touches the plate (ouch!)... Chicken is very well marinated and just on the plate and so many other goodies too. From pickle pineapple and shredded carrot + turnip, chunk of egg otak (heavenly), fried ikan bilis and peanut - all for SGD5:30 Definitely worth the price and the quality.. Returning verdict: OH YES!
