It's great for what it is. Avoid the stupid hotel laundry fees. Would be even better if you didn't have to come back to change the machines. Cost is a bit higher than full service laundry shops in HK, but at 5+5 SGD for most laundry situations it's still quite reasonable. There's a massive public market just nearby where you can eat while your stuff is rolling.

Plenty of well-maintained machines, on-site bill changer (exchanges for tokens, not S$1 coins). The washing machines have options for cold and hot water, softener, disinfectant, and extended cycles. The dryers have options for multiple temperature settings. If coming from the north entrance, the shop will be on the right-hand side as you walk south. It's right along the main walkway, not inside the smaller shop area to the east of the walkway.

It's easy to find the shop because it's next to the chinatown complex.

My regular laundromat. Place very spacious and windy. I normally go there early in the morning when the cleaning lady start their cleaning. Her look is not very friendly though. She sometimes give me angry gaze because i sit there and wait for my laundry while she mopping the floor. I am sorry as i dont have any place to go other than doing my laundry. Anyways thanks to the lady too because of her the place is clean.

When you are out on a long vacation, one thing that can give you a headache is the laundry. It is not practical to carry a change of clothes for each day - not including party nights and so on. Hotels charge exhorbitant rates. It is not practical to do your own laundry either. Introducing...the local laundromat! Having lived so many years without ever encountering this phenomenon, for me the laundromat was the single most mind-blowing discovery in Singapore. Google told me that Easy Wash in China Town was the closest to me. Google also gave me useful hints about how to go about the whole process. I was nevertheless, quite nervous when I lugged my bag-load of clothes to the place. However, I discovered that my worries were unfounded. Easy Wash as the name suggests really was easy. You select a machine based on the weight of your clothes (of course this is just a guestimate). You can choose between 11 Kgs, 16 Kgs and 20 Kgs and load your laundry. Next you decide on the type of wash. I decided on the Normal Wash + Softner (40 minutes). It cost me 8 SGD. The detergent etc. are auto-injected, so no need to carry it with you or pay extra. You need to exchange your cash for tokens first. There is an easy to use machine for this, in the premises. You feed the tokens into the slot of your machine and voila, the machine starts rolling. Hop over for a quick lunch at the Hawker Center opposite and by the time you are back, the washing is done. Next, select the right dryer and chuck in your clothes. I selected the recommended 25 minutes at 80 degrees at a dollar per 5 minutes - a total of 5 dollars worth of tokens. That's it. As easy as pie and a bag full of squeaky clean clothes!
