Emi's Waffle & Gelato - 825 Tampines Street 81

Poor customer service. Had 3 staff on dirty, although full house, they are not required to serve any customer. There was this elderly man kept looking inside the store and making rounds in his wheel chair, none of the staff stood forward to help the elderly man to take his order or to attend to him or simply let him know that he might need to wait for the customers to leave before a table is made available for him. As such, I stood forward ask the uncle what he wants so I could purchase on behalf of him since it is not convenient for him to go up the steps or to open the glass door to enter. The uncle thought I was one of the staff and told me sadly that there were no seats so I told him to wait awhile for the customer to leave and shortly, there was an empty table. One staff came out to clean the table and ignored the uncle. I approached her to let her know that the uncle is keen in buying the dessert, kindly ask for his orders after settling down her dirty plates. She said “oh I think he’s going already”. Lol, the pots of plants were blocking his wheelchair so he made a round to enter from the other side and she just didn’t bother… including the other 2 staff that were in the shop just simply looking out and refusing to help. After I told her that the uncle is just making one round to get to the seat, she just left and didn’t not bother moving or arranging the tables for the uncle. As a passerby, I didn’t their jobs, took the chair away so the uncle could use the table. Not sure if it’s a poor staff training or lack of basic human sympathy for these three working adults to ignore the uncle and leave him outside the door.

Very thick waffles and nice gelato too! Fresh and delicious. Great place to have a dessert after dinner.

Was looking for ice cream place to have dessert after dinner. Came to try and was very disappointed. Gelato was average nothing fantastic. Drinks choices are limited too, ordered their coffee and waited for almost 20minutes for it when they is hardly any customer around. We drank more skimmed milk in the coffee lo. As you can tell from the pictures, failed much. Won't come here again. XXXXX

Got our dessert fix once again at Emi’s Gelato and it’s our 3rd visit here but finally got to try the waffles! Waffles and ice cream (we had butterfly pea milk + strawberry) was pretty yummy, quite shocked by the various 1-star reviews but those written were few months back. Felt like the butterfly pea flavor tasted slightly like Paddlepop (nostalgic feels defo). Gelato that we had the past 3 times we visited was smooth and not icy at all, quality has most likely improved from the previous feedback given. Kudos on that! (‘: Give them a try if you haven’t, good hang out place for supper / catch up with friends too (esp from 22 Nov we can dine in with 5pax) as they open till 2am.

Came here after dinner for dessert. Ordered the waffle with a scoop of mocha biscotti and chips ice cream. Nice place to chill out and relax. They also serve cakes and coffee.

Purchased a waffle with vanilla and mocha biscotti chips gelato. Although it looks decent in the photo, the taste was average at best. The gelato mouthfeel was kind of oily rather than a pleasant creaminess, so it was difficult to finish. The waffle came cold, but we were told that their waffle machine broke down so this was the best they could do, which was fine. The waffle taste was ok. Previous reviews have mentioned that the owners are receptive to feedback and have improved. Perhaps more can be done to better the gelato taste and justify the price.

Nice waffles, just right balance... Not too dry n crispy like some others waffles shop n not too "bread-y" too... Gelato tastes good too.. we had mao shan wang n strawberry cheesecake with homemade waffles ($6.00).. Both gelato under "surpreme" which is $10.00 double (single $5.50)... "Premium" double $9.00 (single $5.00)... Coffle at $7.00... cakes at $6.50... one dollar more than some others "Normal n smaller" shop but at least it's taste good ... Staffs (lady friendly but little forgetful, she totally forgot bout our coffee even thou store not that crowd/ man staff bit "粗心”, splits some "water" on my leg without realising it while cleaning the table)... Will visit again thou to try their coffle... ?...

Happen to find this place after my dinner. Emi is named after the owner's wife. The waffle wasn't available. Had a croffle with a scoop of ice cream. Find that croffle, pretty chewy. Drinks, we had was summer berry lemonade. Cash accept CDC voucher accept that is a plus point. Hope it had a more indoor place soon.
