I am making this review after a fulfilling internship experience with Farallon Law. I do not usually do google reviews, but I felt the need to do so as it is the best way to express my gratitude and thanks for the past month of learning. I am grateful for the immense opportunities provided for my learning experience, such as being involved in client meetings, court hearings, contractual disputes, article writings etc. Through these experiences, I was able to learn that good lawyering constitutes not just good legal knowledge, but also good client management skills, emotional aptitude, commercial savviness, knowing your audience and most importantly, guiding the client to the most financially prudent choice (i.e. not wasting unnecessarily costs on legal fees, whether the lawsuit is financially worthwhile etc.) I would definitely recommend applying for an internship position at Farallon for current law students as it provides optimal practical experience spanning beyond typical law school education. Most importantly, the team takes genuine effort to guide and involve you with fruitful opportunities, provided that you are pro-active and eager to learn. Lastly, it is clear from my internship experience at Farallon Law that the firm takes immense pride, dedication and diligence in helping their clients. Clients have benefitted tremendously from the firm's experience and commercial acumen in identifying current problems and guiding against future ones. Farallon Law has always ensured that clients do not spend unnecessary legal costs, and I believe that is one of my key takeaways from the internship experience.

I have consulted Nicolas on a number of occasions and he was totally professional.  He is a lawyer with good character and conscience who puts the client's interest first and not how much he could make from the client.  He would go to great lengths to explain why it was not feasible to spend money on a case which was not in the client's favour. Nicolas is very patient and very knowledgeable in his field.  What impressed me most is, he is one lawyer who will go the extra mile for clients.  Every lawyer can give advices on things related to law, but it's the extra mile, integrity, kindness, compassion and a genuine desire to help people exhibited by Nicolas that touches me and makes me go back to him every time I need legal advice.

My experience with Farallon includes 3 factors: Empathy, correct advice and kindness. Alvin was all three for me during some really testing times in my professional life and he helped me arrive at conscious, reasonable decisions and never promised me the moon. He is grounded and very caring about the outcome, often showed me he is on the same side as me when I was losing my nerves, which is what makes him different - he is human.
