First Botanic Garden on Armenian Street

Nature among rows of quaint shophouses in closed off road . One of the best streets to visit in Singapore

It is really nice to have a boulevard where Raffles initiated the First Botanic Gardens. The boards relating to the plants are informative but it is clear that the person who wrote it is not a cook. There is no such thing really as Peranakan laksa. Laksas cooked in Peranakan households are laksa lemak with coconut milk and assam laksa. I doubt if any Peranakan would say that Peranakan laksa is assam laksa which is more commonly known as Penang laksa Also , what is Babi Ponteh? Babi Ponteh? And cinammon is not necessarily an ingredient in Babi Pongteh . However , it is nice to see the plants and trees used from which ingredients are extracted concentrated in one setting even if trying to contrive Peranakan dish from some are not 100% accurate The ixoras were in full bloom when I visited and it did remind me of sembahyang ( prayer ) days
