I was upset with what happened at the stable earlier. My 8 year old fell off the horse and the trainer wasn’t able to control the horse. Better think twice before sending your child for a lesson there

I signed up for their beginner package last year and it was a great experience. It was 4 times semi private class and we learned about stable management and basic riding. Since then I wish to be able to ride and I decided to take 10x private lesson package. It come to my surprise that the front office will assign different horse and trainer for every class and to book the slot you must continously chasing the front office. Later part I realizeΒ  there is no clear SOP about the lesson. Every lesson you will need to update the trainer what has you learned previously and you need time to adjust with the horse. The trainer nΒ  horse that you are getting will depend on your luck that day. I fell on my 9th lesson and broke my collarbone , only then I realize not even one trainer ever taught me or giving some guidance what to do when the horse is out of control ( since there is a risk in the equstrian field, isn't it aΒ  basic thing to taught the student ? Even when we are flying the stewardess always show us what to do in the event of energency ). I really think they need to improve on their front office system and SOP for the riding lessons.

Interesting place to bring your kids for horse riding lessons. They also have sessions for you to do horse/pony riding.

Quiet and well maintained serene spot for experiences with horses and ponies. My gal and friend did a workshop and learnt a great deal from the friendly and patient guides. Other than taking care of the lovely ponies and treating them with utmost care, they stroll rode on them within the safe fenced park. Would suggest kids to do this to get a good depth of knowing the horsies.

There are quite a number of places to ride horses in Singapore and Gallop Stable at Horsecity is one of the easier one to arrange. Many other stables either don’t offer one-time fun/trail rides or require memberships. There is a restriction to note though, no more than 75kg, no older than 55 years old. Although the administration of the ride could have been better managed, the ride itself is fun and relaxing. The staff who facilitated the ride, Maria, was knowledgeable and provided many insights to the well-being of the horses, their quirks and how to interact with them.

If I could give this business a 0 stars I would. I was a student at this stable for about 3 years. The only reason I rode here was because it was affordable and more accessible for those who don’t want the commitment of a membership at other equestrian centres. I have been an equestrian since I was 4 years old. The conditions and things I saw first hand here are appalling. Anyone with any real equestrian experience would know so. I am honestly a little ashamed for supporting this business. 1. They claim to be a rehabilitation, retirement and rehoming facility for ex race horses. Most of these horses are not given the attention needed. They do not have the facilities to be claiming this. 2. Most staff are not trained. Many of the new instructors cannot even canter or have never cantered in their life. Grooms are changed every week due to misinformation and being untrained. 3. Staff are not made to do ANY kind of first aid training. 4. The conditions that these horses live in is inhumane. Horses and ponies live most of their lives in a tiny stall and are turned out maybe 1 time a week. 5. Every-time a horse passes away here they claim it to be β€œold age”. These horses are not at the age they should be dying. They are worked and worked until they die. There are only a handful of ponies and horses who are officially retired. But they do not receive the care they should for their age. 6. Staff are extremely overworked and underpaid. Most of the long term instructors are great and they have all my respect for the work they do. The only people who care about these horses are them. 7. Vets are hardly ever called to a sick or injured horse. 8. Communication is terrible between staff and clients/customers. Lastly, I love the people at gallop stable who really truly care. They know who they are.

The beginner's lesson itself was excellent. We received clear instructions and feedback and gained a stronger appreciation for the horses and for the noble art of horse-riding. However, the e-mail communcations prior to us booking our lesson were confusing and contradictory and written in a demanding tone (we had to fill out all details - age, height, weight, contact details for all riders - but were asked to write these AGAIN on the waiver form when we had the lesson [which makes more sense]). (I have been enquiring and booking many events over these holidays and this was by far the least helpful/friendly/professional of such communications) At one point in the email communication I was asked to use Pay Now immediately to hold our booking. Then, two days later, we were informed that we had been overcharged (by about 65%) and would receive re-imbursement that day. We were never paid. 14 days later, the day before our riding lesson, I sent a reminder e-mail that we were owed money; I raised it on site after the riding lesson, and was fobbed off with the usual "we will get back to you" (already two weeks later!!) Later that afternoon, I sent an e-mail suggesting that my solicitor would be included in the next e-mail I had to send. Payment was made within the hour..... (By PayNow - which takes about 20-30 seconds to use) This episode has left a really sour taste in the mouth and, as keen as our girls are to do more riding, we won't be doing it at Gallop Stables Horsecity!

Having a horse for our wedding photoshoot probably was a problematic one when you have no experience in getting closer with one. We had done our research on several gallops stables in Singapore. They promptly responded to our enquiries. We had an amazing photoshoot experience and thankfully it was a smooth one, with perfect weather. The horse was beautiful & charming, they took care of it very well and Coconut was its name. I would also like to thank our friendly instructor Gina, who was super friendly and answered all our doubts and make us feel eased along with the horse. She even helped out during our photoshoot even tough it's way beyond her jobscop. I had an amazing day indeed, it is truly one of a kind experience and a memorable one!
