This sushi set was to my horror inedible - sushi rice is as hard as pebbles and prawn/unagi/egg roll is sticky and smelly like it was rotten. It was dated 8 apr, I bought it at around 5pm and consumed it as soon as I get home like an hour later. The taste and quality was so bad that Iโve never tasted such sushi in my life. Canโt believe that Giant sells such low quality sushi ! Itโs risk of food poisoning that Iโm worried about.

โ โ โ โ โ The best thing that happened amidst the pandemic is to have Giant opened an outlet in Simei.However it is kind of strange that there is an lunch break at the meat counter from 12pm to 1 pm. How inconvenient especially to those WFH when lunch break is about the same time. If it is an office it is fair but not a hypermarket!

โ โ โ โ โ There is a variety of products including fresh and frozen produce and I love the location and convenience it has brought to nearby residents.
However, there is still no weighing machine to get a price tag for things like fruits and it is instead done manually by the staff which takes up considerable time. It can be tiring for the staff to check the item one by one, and not sustainable in the long run especially during peak periods. It is also highly prone to error; I have been charged wrongly a few times due to what I suspect are outdated promotional prices in the system.
Perhaps the management can take some time to look into this, and see how they can improve the overall customer and staff experience for this aspect.

โ โ โ โ โ This new Giant Supermarket is located just on the ground floor of the Simei MRT Station. Considered a small or "medium" size supermarket for Giant. It is going to be a very convenient store for all in the region.
Constraints by the store location and size, it will surely take aways some groceries shoppers from the FairPrice that is located on 5th floor in the Eastpoint Mall. Which is very inconvenient for shoppers to go all the way up for general groceries shopping.
Giant is reputable for its quality of goods with reasonable price. Looking forward to its official opening, soon..

โ โ โ โ โ I must say that there is a difference between the day when it was first opened and compared to now. The freshness of the food items such as the vegetables and the fish are questionable. The only thing that cheer me up during my visit today are the flowers ( not cheap, around 10 plus ) and I took some pictures of them to remind myself that I can get the flowers from Giant the next time.
