โ โ โ โ โ This is definitely not a place for chicken rice for sure. Itโs just not very good especially when compared to the ones we are all used to. And I really dislike โoldโ and fibrous kai lan veg. The egg fooyong saved our meal. Oh well.

โ โ โ โ โ Personally they don't have the best chicken rice. They also don't have the best steamboat. Yet they have quite a crowd whether it's the weekend or on weekdays. I've definitely had better versions of the respective dishes elsewhere. That said, they're a legacy brand in Singapore, with a traditional hainanese setup, and quite some presence. It honestly feels like you went back in time while walking towards the restaurant. Another thing, they only accept cash and PayNow.
The restaurant is on the basement of Golden Mile Tower; don't enter the wrong building. You'd be walking past some mookata spot, some shops selling Thai amulets, and alot of shuttered shops. Shouldn't be too difficult to find it.

โ โ โ โ โ Soup is quite filled with MSG but is nice!
We ordered an additional plate of beef cause it is really their star dish.
The chicken is quite normal to me and hence the 4 stars but of course the main star here is the steamboat.
Chicken Rice Chilli is filled with oomph!
First time trying the satay and is quite good too.

โ โ โ โ โ Came here once from a recommendation from a family friend, and did not regret it! The steamboat place is very accessible and easy to find in the Golden Mile Tower, and it is a spacious eatery with many seatings for people to dine in. My first impression was how distinct the smell of freshly steamed rice was in the restaurant! It smelled very fragrant with the symphonic whiffs of the other dishes that the chefs were cooking up in the kitchen. One of my favourite dishes to order is the Chicken Rice. The chicken meat, cooked to perfection, was tender and paired perfectly with the homemade chili sauce, which had a tang of spiciness on your tongue. The seafood was fresh and up to standard, and the soup we ordered was always packed with flavour and served generously. One of the factors that makes this eatery so welcoming is the quick and efficient service. 5 star rating for this steamboat place and would recommend it to anyone that wants a taste of old Singapore and a place to wind down after a long day.

โ โ โ โ โ This was one of the establishments I've always wanted to try because of their history, old school charm, and decent reviews.
But we were left very disappointed.
Other than the chicken rice ? itself, it's a struggle to put a finger to any dish and say 'that's awesome'.
Everything was south of average, nothing special about the hand cut meats (pork and beef), the salty/ MSG soup base was forgettable, can easily get better hainanese pork chop elsewhere, kailan was pretty bland, satay was underwhelming, and the chicken (1/2 of it) won't beat the good ones we're all familiar with as Singaporeans.
2 โญ is pretty generous.

โ โ โ โ โ Traditional steamboat with chicken rice, the perfect match to have at this restaurant.
Been here numerous time and well loved by all ages.
Love the way they made their Ice Lemon Tea!
Prices had increased and portion reduced BUT taste still as good.

โ โ โ โ โ Food 4/5
Price 2/5
Service 3/5
Overall 3/5
Chicken rice is nice and fragrant. Rice is neither too hard, nor the soft kind. Texture is just alright. The white chicken is soft, but has lots of tendons and "jelly-like" stuff. Also had the other dishes like vegetable and soup dish.
Price is relatively expensive for the serving size. Half chicken with 2 rice and 3 drinks costs $42.
Service is average. They just serve what is ordered. Nothing exceptional.
Will return again if I'm around there and have chicken rice craving. Otherwise will not return to this place specially for chicken rice.

โ โ โ โ โ Traditional steamboat that I had been here since I was a kids. The shop employ a lot of senior citizens which I don't often see. I think this is a good initiative to help the economic when job are hard to find for a lot of elders. They have been using pipe gas stove for more than 30 years and I think it is much safer than those canister steamboat. Price is reasonable and the portion is great.
It is also famous for it white chicken however the way the store it doesn't appeal to me. The chop and stack it in around 20 plates to prepare customer surge but not sure the corner the kept the chicken is hygiene or not as there is no cover. Although hanging on the bar is the same but with a heat lamp shining on it to keep warm and also less exposed part do give me greater sense of hygiene as compare to chop to pieces and stack on plates
