Grain - 5 Burn Rd

My 1st try on the prep meal from Grain. Main dish: vanilla citrus buttery salmon, huge portion yet mouth watering. Dessert: ondeh-ondeh pandan cake and mixed fruit parcel. The cake is too sweet for me i guess it due to the "gula melaka". The fruit is juicy. Grain is no doubt a good option for food order especially during this pandemic. To avoid the long queue and unnecessary socialization. Add on: the healthy and fresh (assorted fruit)juice for lazy people like me

Order the Christmas meal. The order was a huge disappointment to the family member on this occasion. The stated delivery time was 4:45pm, but the food arrived at 4pm and was cold. When I opened the log cake, the cake slipped off the cake board. Set aside the taste of the food is bland; the chicken was uncooked. Refer to the attached photos. I hope you can take this feedback seriously and improve on the way the food was served to the family that has elderly and young kids. Wrote to the customer service, no response at all. Thank you. Food arrived at 10:25am on 13/12/21. Food was completely cold though the receipt stated the food was cooked at 10:00am. The skin of chicken was not removed and grapes were not fresh. I had to throw away chicken because it got only frozen tasted, nothing else. Keep rice so I can do fried rice later. I won’t pay a cent there anymore.

Check your food is cooked upon receiving esp. when raw salmon can cause food poisoning due to bacteria. I received the lunch bento at around 12:30pm today and when i unbox the bento, the strong fishy smell hit my nose. I took a scoop of the salmon and noticed it was not fully cooked on the inside and it was raw when I further cut the salmon (it was not just a bit pink). I have feedback to Grain and their account manager had contacted me that they will feedback to the kitchen and improve for future orders. If i feel unwell and have any diahorrea, inform them and they will follow up. There were earlier reviews on uncook food. Grain may want to seriously quality check the food to ensure it is really cooked inside out before delivering to customer and not just instagramable on the outside.

All my guests enjoyed the food. Brussels were cooked with good taste. Duck meat was tasty. Delivery was prompt & came earlier. Only lychee log cake was too sweet. We finished all the food with satisfaction. Sushi i& sashimi are not from grain.

Ordered Grain’s 3-4 pax christmas set and added on beef shortribs and brisket for my company dinner. The beef and shortribs deserves a special shoutout for the smokey flavour, tender meat and tasty sauces. I did not try the chicken, but seems like it was ok (a little dry when i cut thru but it was accompanied with sauce). The purple cabbage pasta was ok, done properly not overcooked. The salmon was quite a small portion so i did not try but feedback was good. Same goes for the duck, sauce was interesting. I liked the pumpkin. Letdowns; brussel sprouts were so overcooked and mushy inside. The beets were ok, and the salad looked fresh, but the tasteless sprouts were pretty bad not to mention bland so it was left untouched. If you see the photo it had lost all green colour already. The red velvet cake was a little dry but other than that was ok. The logcake although was an early bird free gift, but the most disappointing of all. On christmas nonetheless! The sponge itself was drench in what i guess was the lychee syrup to the point it had become mushy and wet. There wasnt much other taste nor texture, it was just a log of wet mild lychee mush. Yup… went mosty untouched too.. The delivery and packaging itself was great, loved how they provided nice sturdy tongs for the food as well. The sauces for the mests were in nice little jars. I think only the food needs improvement. Especially veggies and dessert. Still a good job, and thanks for the great experience! Might go with them for our next event if they make changes to the desserts.

My company ordered Grain for lunch. They were late for 1 hour but compensated us with additional 5 box( vegetarian meal) The taste of the Lunch box is good and flavourful enough.. love the beef steak. Impossible beef curry was good too. Hope to see improvement in their delivery next time :)

Ordered Grain’s Christmas mini buffet set for my family’s Christmas dinner. The food was superb, but the experience and service standards went above and beyond. The staff made sure to keep us informed and secure every step of the way, and made us feel welcomed and supported throughout the collection process. Not only was the food a delicious, but the portions were also generous and inviting. Dinner was a hit with everyone, highly recommended!
