Horrible experience. I live nearby the place and have been ordering through the website for self-collection. Numerous occasion where the web has problem and my order was not sent in but I had already paid. I had waited for a long time for a status update to collect the food but nothing was updated. Worse part is, I was never notified their web was down. The staffs were aware of the web being down, yet did nothing about it. By the time I arrive, I had to wait AGAIN.

DECENT SHARKS FIN, DELIVERY PROCESS CAN BE IMPROVED If you are craving some Sharks Fin Soup in the north look no further. This place serves decent sharks fin (having ordered through trial and error with many other stores in the north). I would recommend ordering the Sharks Fin Soup With Crab Meat via their own website however there is room for improvement in terms of the updating of the progress once you put in the order. I submitted my order at 9:41pm on haizhongbao.sg but the status did not change so I had to call the store to check if my order has been accepted yet as the flow goes like this 1) SUBMITTED 2) ACCEPTED 3) PREPARING 4) DELIVERY 5) DELIVERED so… my status was stuck at submitted for a good 12 mins until I called up the store and then they went to update it to β€œaccepted”. Then the progress report was stuck at β€œpreparing” for a good 40 odd minutes. I had to call the store a second time to check if my order has been dispatched.. all in all my order arrived in 57 minutes from submission mind u I had to call and chase them TWICE to check on my order… although the item is good I have some reservations to reorder (even though I was given a 5% return voucher) because of the lack of initiative in terms of updating the progress of my order… I don’t enjoy having to chase the store TWICE. I wouldn’t have had to call up the store if the staff had been attentive to web orders and updated accordingly. I think Hai Zhong Bao has decent food but it would be a shame to lose customers due to the inattentiveness of staff towards customers’ orders. Basically the progress update went from β€œPreparing” to β€œDelivered” skipping the β€œDelivering” part. If I am paying $6.50 for a 8 minute distance delivery I am definitely expecting better.

Above average. Quite like the fish head curry but its for 22 dollars half a head. Sufficient for 3 -5 persons if you order other dishes. The Kang Kong blanchan is blend. Strangely business is good perhaps other dishes are better. Will try again if opportunity arises.

Great local tzi char dishes with plenty of variety to choose from. We enjoyed the chai por tofu, fish head steamboat (with flavourful soup). The yam ring was delicious. The fried beehoon had good wokhei. Very good option if you are looking for good food around Woodlands!

The prawn paste chicken is a must try, light on the batter and the star of the dish is the prawn paste marinade, it's well coated and goes well with either sambal chilli or green chilli. $10 for 7pcs The claypot tofu is also a must try, at $10 for the small size portion (there's medium and large ones too), it has egg toufu, prawn, yam, cabbage, egg whites and also roasted pork all brought together with the starchy sauce, which tastes good and goes very well with white rice. Other dishes popular are namely the fish head soup and also the tofu in minced meat sauce. Another dish worth the mention would be it's hor fun and also the fried rice selection :)

Paid $119.80 for 6 persons lunch. The fried rice and hor fun were ok except they lacked the wok hei. The salty egg crabs were fresh and sauce was creamy and flavourful but the crab meat failed to soak up the sauce taste during cooking. The lala and prawn omelette were average. The signature toufu was a little bit too salty. Service was good - enough utensils were provided without asking, wet tissues were foc, etc.
