Great sugar cane for supper

Bought 5 cups of sugarcane from here for my American friends, and they all came in a different shade of brown. Not even greenish brown, but BROWN brown. Asked the lady who served us the drink and she dismissed it saying, what do you foreigners know? This is another sugarcane variety which looks brown. Well, as a Singaporean I have drank enough sugarcane to know that this is not it. Took a first sip and just as expected, they tasted rotten. Went to the aunty to ask for a change. She put on an attitude following that and slammed 5 new slightly greener cups, but we didn’t have the appetite or mood to enjoy them anymore. She complained about loudly to a man sitting at the table right in front of her stall. Spoke in English just so we could hear. It was an utter embarrassment in front of my friends from overseas. Both the beverage and the server’s attitude are bad representations of who we are.
