★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was an amazing experience for my family. We booked 2 slots, one for my parents and another for my own family of 3. My son (age 3yo) enjoyed the session, from getting a shock from the loud flash to watching the “magic” as our image began to appear on the plate. He was fascinated by the camera, lights and sound. He could smell the chemicals and wonder. My parents were equally fascinated with the entire process. It’s our first experience with wet plate photography and Ryan was extremely patient with us; explaining every detail of the process to product. It makes the whole experience alot more meaningful. ??????

Location has a great vibe to it too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today we celebrate our 10 year anniversary at Hip Xiong earlier! It was a fun and memorable experience with Ryan. He took us through the process of tintypes, we could see his passion for his craft. We are no "models", Ryan guided us well and made us feel comfortable.

My husband and I took a pregnancy couple portrait at Hip Xiong Photo Studio.
It was a really unique experience. I love the tintype aesthetic! The communication with Ryan was very smooth and we were well prepared for the shoot. He explained the entire process patiently and we could even join him in the lab to see how the tintype photograph emerges - it‘s really fascinating! We will definitely come back again!!
