Best Japanese sweets restaurant in Singapore

I'm not the biggest fan of matcha, but this matcha tart was great as it had whipped cream filling in it too, hence being on the sweeter side, well paired with a crunchy tart shell. Their matcha was robust and smooth, not bitter or chalky, and I preferred this over the hojicha. Decently priced for a cafe, but the seas we got weren't the most comfortable to chill and talk as we were seated next to each other instead of facing one another. Much recommended for zen and minimalist matcha lovers tho!

Pity when I came, there was no customer in the shop so I guess the 3 staff were bored and chatting among themselves loudly so you could say the zen ness was out of the window ?. Perhaps the self ordering took away the opportunity for the staff to interact with customers.

It would be better if they had higher tables as it was a bit weird for groups to interact and eat desserts while sitting on long benches at low tables. Place wasn't crowded on a weekday afternoon so it was great to chill here

We always come for the outlet-exclusive mochi waffles, which are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside - very delectable and good for two people. The yuzu warabi mochi is great as well, along with the seasonal purple sweet potato desserts. Recommended to visit in the late afternoon to avoid crowds.
J	Jacqueline on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Hvala outlet! Even though their space is smaller than the other 3, but their mochi waffles (only avail at this outlet) is worth travelling down for! Make sure to try their mochi waffles and warabi! The Mochi waffles is so chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside and it goes so well tgt with the hojicha ice cream! Tried all flavours of the Warabi and my fav is the Goma flavour! Warabi is soft and chewy and the goma powder has this subtle bitterness that balances sweetness of the brown sugar dip! The icecream tasted exactly like how they are named, alittle too sweet, but my fav is the hojicha. The Mont noir (goma tart) was a little too sweet!

The genmaicha was on the sweeter side which I would have preferred to be less sweeter. Didn't see any water for self service. They displayed artwork from Ms Mo
W	Wai Chan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hvala is one of my favourite go to cafe for matcha dessert. The varieties of desserts are just so overwhelming that I always over ordered. Their hojicha tea is very good too and it’s hard to find another place where you can find such a good cup of hojicha tea. The matcha 1 gelato doesn’t really have much green tea taste. For intense matcha taste, please go with matcha 3. The only downside for this branch is their table and chair, the table is too low and they are not comfortable. But at least there’s no time limit on how long you dine in the cafe.
J	J Y on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come during off peak hours to truly enjoy the zen vibe. Staffs will arrange the seating for you while you place your order at the ordering machine. I like the drinks here better than other green tea shops. The powder quality is better and the tearista did a good job in whisking the tea!
