Rice is special. Chilli is good, spicy and not too sweet. Kunning is crispy, chicken wing is well marinated and the owner fried me an egg on the spot!

Auntie June has the most delicious cooked dishes at her stall. My favorites are her duo colored Nasi Lemak rice(colored naturally with blue pea flower and pandan leaves extracts), Sambal egg plant ( brinjal), fried toufu, fried chicken wings and fried beehoon(vermicelli). Most importantly is that she treats each customer with patience & respect. She treats us as a friend not just someone who is having a business transaction alone. She greets, smile, ask with care and thank every one of us who buys from her. And I’ve seen difficult customers as well as those who takes a long time to finalize their order. Still she treats them with understanding. I visits her at least once a week to enjoy her food and hope this review will bless their business as she and her husband blessed us with their food.

Although it’s semi popular among the Whampoa crowd, its pretty rare to find a butterfly pea nasi lemak in every hawker centre. A vibrant light blue coloured rice, was real fluffy and cooked to the right texture. As for the chicken, it was unlike any other chicken you would have at a normal economic stall or Nasi lemak stall. It had another dimension of crisp, and it was still popping hot as the chicken is that popular. Likewise for the tofu, their batter is similar to tempura but every crunch has a nice subtle flavour. Do give this a try when you’re at Whampoa morning market. Don’t forget the curry chicken as well.
