The canteen serves great, fresh food - especially because they have a farm of students in the back! The waiters/teachers told me about how they fatten premium selected students over 4 years, and got me some of the better tasting students for my dinner. 10/10 would go again!

Hwa Chong preserved its heritage and culture very well. It is the only school that celebrates Chinese New Year and Mid Autumn Festival as a big event that even open to the public! Every year alumni and students would gather and celebrate as a school. The students always put in a lot of effort in the preparation of the performances and decorations.

Worst School Ever. After studying in this school. The rich and the elites for no reason come and hunt me down for the next 20 + Years. Don't Ever Go There.

Singapore public secondary and pre-university school, with independent status. Excellent quality for preparing students in the Singapore Cambridge GCE A-level examinations. Admission is highly selective due to the nature of its intensive Integrated Programme for ages 13-16 year-olds. The facilities are top notch and occupy a sprawling land area thanks to the generous Singapore Chinese founding benefactors. Only boys are accepted for the Integrated Programme, but the pre-university A-level programme (known as Junior College in Singapore) is open to both boys and girls from ages 17-18 years old. Hwa Chong Institution (HCI for short) should not be confused with Hwa Chong International School (HCIS for short), which is a Singapore private school.

The facilities in this school are actually really nice, if you ignore the fact that the aircon leaks from time to time, the projector probably doesn’t work, the mic squeaks, the wifis broken, and half your recess is wasted walking halfway across the globe to the canteen, which don’t get me started, serves amazing food. The canteen has really good air conditioning as well, it generally stays at a cool 35 degrees during lunch time which is cooler than when it’s hotter than 35 degrees. On the bright side, air in this school is free and everyone can share the same air, and everything that’s in it. Presently though one of the more prominent features of our free air is the inclusion of COVID 19 viruses, which we have patented and trademarked, and is a very effective excuse to skip lessons. When I say the canteen serves amazing food I was more referring to the amazing prices which help you lose weight by emptying your wallet. Every trip to the canteen is like a robbery, the money will fly out of your wallet without you noticing it, especially when you walk past the western stall. Seriously, the western stall is a massive scam, and their utensils are so oily America thought they needed democracy. Food from the chicken rice stall is also of exceptional quality, in fact they hired quality inspectors to pre taste the food before serving it to students, if I payed attention in English class I think they are called flies. The drinks stall is even more remarkable, especially if you buy stuff from the rather generously sized auntie. She’s pretty grumpy all the time and teaches you to say things REALLY SLOWLY AND REALLY CLEARLY. The students are generally pretty nice and will definitely not cause you unnecessary harm if you screw up their MicrometerScrewGuage. Anyway if you actually believed any of that, I think the schools humans Teachers will love to give you a lesson on β€œSBQ Skills Chapter 1: Reliability” Feel free to use this as Sbq sources

Alright so this probably isn't the place for such a review but if any of you Sec 1-3s are reading this, don't be like me. I basically completely wasted 2 years (whilst getting into trouble (= DP)). The school does place quite a bit of emphasis on academic results (like duh?) so you better do well if you don't want to be "seconded". You definitely do have more opportunities if you're in a Special Programme. Can't blame the school though, I simply failed to seize the opportunities offered to me. Oh and elitism DOES exist. Attaching some pictures because I have quite a few.

I don't think I will want to send my kids to this institution. Perhaps they are good in teaching but behavior is really not good. I was in universal studio. They simply ask 2 students to queue and the rest of the 4 came later and simply cut ahead of so many people. It's almost as good as I queue alone and later call my 50 friends to cut everyone in the queue just because I booked the line alone. Atrocious behaviour and would not want my kid to learn that. Good in academic is pointless when you don't even know how to behave properly.
