It looks like an antique shop from outside. Once you step inside the shop, you will love the beautiful and unique statues and artefacts inside the gallery. The shop owner is very friendly, he never feels tired of sharing his knowledge on statues and artefacts.

The best place in Singapore for rare tibetan incense, Thangkas, buddhist statues and pheriperals . The owner is very helpful and is extremely knowledgeable on Tibetan buddhism. Have been to other buddhist shops but this one, you need to put this as a 'die die' must check out if time is critical....

You will not find a better place to locate the Buddhist Statues and Thangkas you are looking for. Was previously looking for specific Buddhist Statues and Thangkas but was not able to find them locally. Melvin the owner of In-Sense Forest is able to tie up with the best craftsman in Nepal / Bhutan to craft out what you need. Each Buddhist Statue and Thangka crafted is fine piece of art with exquisite details, check out the place and admires them yourself.

Not your usual, typical joss-selling shops as compared to most of the Singapore incense/ statues shop. As you pushed open the heavy ancient looking doors, you will be surprised by the soft lighting which resemble a retreat corner which is both quiet and peaceful. The soothing music with the gentle scent of incense does help to pamper all the 5 senses of one's body, which directly (or indirectly) can be soul and mind-pleasing. Do indulge yourself with some time in the shop instead of hurrying passing through, so that you can soak in the atmosphere which can turn out to be an eye-feasting enjoyment. As you lifted up your eyes to the paintings on top ( or the Thangkas ), you will either find yourself gazing into the tender eyes of the Buddhas, or come across the Ultimate Compassionate Deities that are in a wrathful form, whichever you are akin to. Beside the Thangkas, you will also meet face-to-face with the Buddha status and Mandalas, which undoubtedly of high quality. Be prepared to be mesmerized by the intricate, painstakingly carvings from the perspective view of an artist. As you slowly roam around the shop, be fascinated by the Crystals and Stones Collection from this shop-owner. Depending on which angle you are standing, these glistering crystals do glitter in front of your eyes, which I admittedly found some of them quite difficult to tear my eyes away from them. If you do have the time to spare, look around the shop slowly and you may find yourself holding on to some exotic craftsman items which can be either proudly display in your own home (or office); or better still, your own sacred place. Enjoy the moment and happy shopping.

This shop is a fabulous place for practitioners of Vajrayana Buddhism, given its collection of exquisite and rare statues hand-made from some of the very best craftsmen in Nepal and Bhutan. Apart from their physical beauty, the shop-owner's dedicated efforts to ensure proper consecration of the statues is another key differentiator of In-sense Forest. Patrons of the shop can set their mind at ease as the shop-owner is an honest, sincere and friendly dealer who is knowledgeable in Buddhism and especially Vajrayana traditions. In addition, there is a great variety of fine Thangkas, ritual implements (e.g. offering cups, lamp-holders, sutra-covers) and quality offerings (such as colourful candles, Himalayan incense, smoke offering incense) can all be found in this splendid and captivating outlet!

I've known Melvin Wong, the owner of In-Sense Forest for well over 10 years now. I've always enjoyed visiting his shop; from when he first opened in Pearl Centre to his now new shop on Kreta Ayer which is truly a pleasure to visit. I would recommend anyone looking for high quality, handmade, unique and rare artifacts from Nepal or Bhutan to come in and visit and to have a talk with Melvin. Truly a wonderful person with immense knowledge of the items in his store and the countries they come from. From small trinkets to large hand-crafted sculptures, there's something for everyone in his store.

Friendly and knowledgeable chap regarding tibetan Buddhism. His statues are of high quality with intricate carvings, some adorned with precious stones, not the commercial ones commonly seen elsewhere.
