Legendary chicken rice place on Killiney Road in an old shop house. I was pleasantly surprised to try a coke and plum drink that was wonderful. And the dessert with yam was lovely. Decor had a lot of quaint tchotches from days past. Almost museum like. Highly recommended.

It was the first time here for my wife and I, but we were really impressed with our lovely dinner experience! The food was excellent, especially their Hainanese Chicken Rice but also their Hokkien Mee which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The ambience was really interesting too with all the themed old-school decor. I was personally impressed by the robot too, although our table wasn't served by it. Kudos to the friendly staff for answering all our queries too. We will be back!

★★★☆☆ Homemade otah is good taste, other dishes were just ok. Staff r normally good, just the taste was not to my taste unfortunately. ーーーーーーーーーーーー ★★★★☆ After a long time visit. Their taste has got much better personally. All the main dishes like meat, seafood, egg dishes etc..., we ordered this time was tasty. Only a-bit-disappointing dish was oil rice. However we’d like to visit them again for their main dishes. ーーーーーーーーーーーー ★★★★☆ Though the taste is different every visit, this day's so nice!!! Hope continue this taste anytime... Young staff were all diligent and kind.

Chicken was very tender and fresh, rice was fragrant. A little expensive but expected due to its location near Orchard.

Ordered the Lovely Meal set (可爱餐). The chicken was juicy and tender, and full of flavor with the various sauces available. The bok choy and meatball soup were very good compliments. Perfect lunch time meal.

Average tasting chicken rice and overpriced drink. Chicken skin had a layer of jelly under it, which is something that I haven’t seen for a long time. Pomelo juice with mint leaf is nothing like its namesake - it is essentially some soda with bottled jam. I appreciate the efforts to transform the restaurant to an old school kopitiam using vintage memorabilia. Will return to try the zi char.

With many online reviews claiming that Jew Kit should be in amongst the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award winners, came here to give this place a try. Given the supporting reviews online, it was surprising to find the eatery pretty much empty on a weekend afternoon. However, that did not deter the desire to give this place a try. Ordered Half a Steamed Chicken, with Braised Tofu Add-On, Oil Rice and the Chicken Feet in Thai Sauce. Alas, the Steamed Chicken was a little dry and the Skin though glistening did not have that layer of jelly fat below it that is common at Hainanese Chicken Rice specialty restaurants. The Braised Tofu was alright but was bordering on salty. The Oil Rice was tasty and paired well with the rice, giving the dish some joy again. The best dish of the visit was the Chicken Feet in Thai Sauce. The boneless chicken feet was really tasty in the sweet and sour sauce. A serving of Dumpling Soup was ordered as well. The dish was pretty average and was neither fantastic nor bad. Something to consider only if you are truly hungry after consuming all of the above. Like most restaurants and eatery in Singapore, this place also serves more ice than liquid in their drinks, which shows the level of service the restaurant hopes to show versus that which they actually show. The restaurant has kept itself updated with the use of a robot server to bring the finished dishes to the table where it was ordered. A human staff would usually meat the robot server to make the final step of placing the dish on to the table. This is definitely a step in the right direction in improving productivity and yet ensuring the personal touch is still retained. Food wise, the overall experience is surprisingly barely acceptable given the strong recommendations found online. Also, as the chicken is the signature dish of the eatery, it is disappointing that was less than ideal. The good service by the staff is why the restaurant gotten 3 stars instead of 2 stars which it would have gotten if rated purely on the food served General Verdict: An overhyped chicken rice eatery that is not able to live up to its reputation with its signature dish less than perfect Opening Hours: Daily 11am-10pm Queue Situation: Generally no queue Price: SG$6 upwards per person Payment Mode: Cash and all Major Credit Cards (Physical & Paywave) Items Ordered: 1) Item: Steamed Chicken - Half Chicken serving - with Braised Tofu add-on Description: Chicken, though tasty, was a little dry while the skin did not have that jelly layer of fat below the skin that the chicken in Hainanese Chicken Rice is known for.
