Got their signature all-in combo soup which is mee hoon Kueh with minced pork, pork slices, pork ball and shrimp ball. The soup was amazing, different from any other mee hoon Kueh stall. It has a smoky flavour which is very interesting. Kueh on the other hand was quite normal and lack that chewiness that I prefer. Minced pork was ok. Pork slices was very tender. Pork ball had a very pork taste which I did not like. Shrimp ball was not ball. Overall the highlight was the soup. The chili provided is also quite different. It has an acidic profile which is quite nice.

This Mee Hoon Kway taste is just average. Price is acceptable. The MHK texture is normal and soup taste ok. Nothing particular to shout out on. Can try, but not really worth queuing for it.

The service is okay. Food wise, for option 3 , 5 dollars a bowl the MEE Hoon Kuay portion is relatively small, meatball is not marinated enough. the soup is flavourful but it’s way toooo oily! Please improve on the soup I believe it can be better.. other than that I think is worth a try.

Saw this famous stall and decided to queue for 45mins during lunch time. In my honest opinion, the taste wasn’t better than those other popular ban mian stalls in Singapore, I would say the taste even loses to a few of them. Secondly, I didn’t like their ordering system. You queue up to take order (queued for around 25 mins), after ordering they will tell you to wait and make payment later (which I waited for around 10 mins), after that they will ask you to make the payment before proceeding to cook your order (waited for almost additional 10 mins). So a total of around 45 mins. Is the price reasonable? Certainly. But is it worth queueing 45 mins for it? Definitely not. Is their Chilli sauce outstanding? Nope, it’s average. The only unique thing I must comment about it is that it leaves hours of Smokey taste to your mouth. I found it pretty amusing when I burped Smokey, charcoally taste, hours after I had the meal.

My first experience tasting the famous Jiak Song Handmade noodle. Front counter service was terrible, no one willing to serve, the lady keep troubleshooting her tablet despite there is a queue waiting. I was totally ignored, no one willing to take my order. Preparations was long around 15 mins as I was at the front. Portion of the food is little despite adding noodle. Can't fill my stomach. I have to look for another of food.

Didn't know I had to queue twice! First I queued 10+ minutes to order and then I had to queue up to collect my food as it was served in first come first serve order! It doesn't make sense as if the person in front of me had ordered the cheapest version, he would have gotten away with the much more expensive order! Service was so slow that I went to buy a snack and drink. Came back to find that another man had cut queue to collect the food as well. Too bad the receipt had no order number so it was hard to tell who was first unless the cashier bothered to honour the purchase time. Taste wise, it was so so, not salty and over-rated. The meat balls were nice but I would not bother risking gastric to wait for this!

Overpriced and really slow, nonchalant, non existent service with bad signage. I always wanted to try this mee hoon kway store as I was attracted to the fact that it’s helmed by a Masterchef Singapore finalist. I was pretty disappointed with it. Just loads of flair. I came by during lunch time. I saw one queue snaking back towards the Yong tau foo store and I just queued behind. There were around 5 customers before me. It took nearly 10 mins before 2 more customers recvd their food. Then suddenly, one patron who was having her noodles at the table beside, just asked me, am I queueing up for the store? I told her yes, and she very kindly informed me that I will need to order before I queue up. I looked at the store and there was absolutely ZERO signage for the 2 queue system; neither did the staff bother to inform customers about the queue system. So I went to the front to order. The staff looked at me and just told me to wait. I had to wait till The second staff walked back with 2 drinks on hand. They 2 staff proceeded to chit chat and continue to drink their drinks while myself and another 2-3 customers were waiting to place the order. After I placed my order, the staff still continued talking n talking. They, however, to their credit, love to wipe and probably wiped the counter 4-5 times while I was waiting for my order. Got my food, and settled down to eat after more than 15-20mins of waiting. Broth was good, the meats were tender with a Smokey taste and the were meatballs soft. At $5.50 for item 3, it wasn’t really worth the money vs The portion. Vegetables portion was pathetic at best and the egg was barely even cooked. The noodles was very clumpy and I would not have expected that as the noodles was done at the time I ordered. Maybe if the staff took effort to have less chit chat amongst themselves, they would be able to stir while cooking and prevent the noodles from sticking together.. I would probably not want to visit this store next time as it wasn’t worth the hype.
