Long queue since the early 2000. I've always eaten their fried fish thick bee hoon soup. A little chilli padi and light soy sauce and its perfect for a rainy day. The other branch at Old Airport Road isn't as good.

Stall owners are not the friendliest and can be a bit slow. However soup was clean (def not msg loaded), fish slices were fresh. I added vegetables and hence the serving was generous. Overall a comforting meal for a rainy day - but probably wouldn't queue for a long time for this during peak hours.

Better than decent, go for fried instead of sliced.

Ordered mixed fish soup with rice which cost S$8.50. Fried fish is not bad, sliced fish not as nice as I thought it will be and it taste like frozen and not fresh fish. For such price, I would rather patronise Han Kee at Amoy.

Standard has dropped over the years. It was value for $, till the increase of price. Taste wise is rather so-so.

My top1 fav fish soup in Singapore! Broth is so tasty, fish is fresh as well. Nice to have it during rainy day, so warm..

I have read a few times from bloggers about this fish soup. Today decided to give it a go since there is pretty much no queue. Stall front look rustic and honestly a bit tired. Didn't know what to go for, usually the fresh fish option but read somewhere their fried fish is good, hence asked for both fish option and was told it will be $8. So be it. Was asked if I want milk in my soup, hell no. I want clean, clear, tasty fish soup. Ordered then already regretted. If at $8 I might as well get grouper? Whatever. So be it. Felt a bit weird getting my order, they offer house chopsticks but gives you only disposable plastic spoons. Damn, hate to drink good soup from tiny disposable spoons. Took my order, went to a bright table, snap some pics and tucked in. The soup is clean and clear, flavours light but a bit underwhelming, and the fried shallots overwhelming. Considered passable but nothing to shout about. The thin fish slices fairly generous, firm and taut. Not as springy as I would have liked. The fried fish strips are normal. So hence a bowl of passable soup. But with Amoy's Han Kee and Chinatown's Mr Fish within 10 minutes walk, unlikely I would come back for this.
