Jin Sheng Roasted Meats - 444 Pasir Ris Drive 6

Surprisingly good - 4.2 stars. Had the steamed chicken rice just to give it a shot and found it very decent. I was surprised because I haven’t had chicken rice of this quality in Pasir Ris for sometime - I’ve somewhat already given up on the search. Rice has oil fragrance and richness that resulted from the frying process prior to steaming. However, it was a tad undercooked. Chicken pieces were generous for $3.50 - which is a very good price in July of 2022, where every other stall is selling at $4-$4.50. The meat prices were tender and juicy. The soy based sauce that was drizzled over blended in very well without overpowering the chicken. Chilli was the star for me. Packs a punch and delivers the kick from the first bite. It viscosity coats the rice and chicken really well. Go sparingly for those who can’t take heat that well! Very garlicky though, so do prepare lots of water to deal with the aftermath. Soup was soup, but I like how I could “Zheng” my soup with the spring onions and fried onions, which made it many notches better.

Ordered lunch from here today and it was pretty good. The roasted chicken rice was tasty, as was the ABC soup (pork ribs were a little hard), as well as the salted vegetable and duck soup. The roasted pork was okay, but the skin was not crispy, while the char siew was nice but the sauce was overly sweet. The chilli was great, as was the chicken rice.

For the stall I patronised at jurong just below pioneer mrt . Pork lard is crispy and fried just right with the aroma spreading throughout your mouth as you chew into it They don't seem to add it with frequency but when they do its heavenly Portions are decent . Roast pork seems decent too . Noodles done right But it's really really about the pork lard .
