I had really good time here! I went for private experience at the public sauna for 1.5hours. The staff are friendly in guiding us on how to use the onsen and wear yukata. Overall, the sauna, onsen and ice bath are clean and very nice! It was infused with red tea when I came. I can see the owner tries his/her best to maintain the place, so kudos to them for opening this during pandemic. It maybe small and has only one big onsen bath, but if you just want to experience onsen for the first time or just relax without much crowd, this is perfect place to go.

First onsen experience ever and I decided to choose Joya because it just seemed to have the simplicity newbies will appreciate; and I was right, it was a good choice! I took the day pass with refreshments and had a nice soak in the public baths, and yummy snacks after. The amenities are sufficient and overall it was a very comfortable experience. The water temperature for the hot and cold pool is perfect and the staff are really attentive and nice. I felt so relaxed that it was difficult for me to go home (really wanted to sleep right there and then). I don't know why there's so many harsh and entitled reviews on here. I think this is an amazing initiative and we should be happy for an yet another onsen spa in Singapore! Especially one run by locals, and a spa that was converted from an unused pool. #supportlocal #supportsustainable A hidden gem indeed. The chlorine in the water is a tiny bit strong and that's pretty much my only gripe. Will be back! Hopefully next time I'm back I can try the hokkaido milk hahaha

Thanks for the great first Onsen experience. We felt very comfortable in this clean and beautiful onsen as we tried both public and private onsen. The staff were very friendly, clear in their instructions and approachable yet not intrusive and though we were shy at first, it was very easy to feel good and relaxed very quickly. I’ve never been to Japan but I felt like I was transported to a humble onsen in Japan. We appreciate the effort the team has put in to create the ambience. The cute cafe had adequate refreshments to keep us fueled up and water was very accessible at most parts of the onsen. I also like the area where we could rest after the onsen. Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate and explain how to wear the yukata and providing undergarments (underwear for both men and women and tube for ladies) to take away any issues of being shy or uncomfortable. The dressing and shower areas were well equipped and there was no difficulty in getting dressed as they were thoughtful to provide for most of our needs. It was a much needed relaxation time for the both of us and we definitely will be back again. Thanks a lot Joya Onsen. See you soon.

Got the public upgrade to Private onsen. To be honest this is the only place that allows you to do that, so the price is really worth for such a huge space that gives u access to sauna, onsen, and ice bath. 5/5 Onsen experience. The onsen wasn’t too hot, suitable for most people but personally I like it hotter just by abit. The ice bath is really bloody cold and I felt like a naked chicken repeatedly getting dipped into the cold water and back to the hot bath. Makes you dizzy but really nice to relax your tensed body muscles. To be honest for this price point it is really worth it, the last onsen I went was in Japan, although it was indeed different, it is a good different. And as cliche as it sounds, it reminds me of Japan, and it is good enough for me. 3/5 Food Redeemed on Klook for a wagashi which was good. Added on dangos cause it’s everyone’s favourite dessert but the dangos could have been better. It is refrigerated and the dango was too hard to eat, my partner broke the stick while she was trying to bite off one of the dango. Overall really good experience. It isn’t those high end onsen with awesome facilities, but it has the essence of a typical onsen in Japan. I came out refreshed, relaxed and sleepy which is amazing. will recommend anyone looking for a private onsen experience with your significant other. If I’m not wrong I read somewhere that this onsen is opened by two singaporean, so #supportlocal .This is truly a hidden gem.

Greetings from Malaysia! We really enjoyed this place as there is none such with an attached cafe, from where we are from. As Japan is pretty off limits till who-knows-when, this is the closest we could get. In Malaysia, we typically get 45 minutes of private onsen at about RM140, without private sauna, and just a small area. At Joya, the private onsen pool was big with attached sauna, hence really worth the price (88 dollars for 90 minutes). Water temperature was just right. The place was clean and adequately maintained, the air con was nice and cold. The decor really transports you to Japan. And the cafe is the best because drinking cold Hokkaido milk after onsen is a must! Well done, and keep it up! p.s. btw, this place is so easy to find and get to even by public transport (MRT and bus) ?

It’s not really private onsen as the water is somehow share with people and there are stains on the ground or in the onsen, quite disgusting. The temperature in sauna was broken, might hurting people. Food is unpleasant, the place is small and crowded. Though staff are nice and the Japanese clothes are cute, I won’t come back again

Booked the private onsen for the onsen experience. The staff were very friendly and explained to us how to wear the yukata. They have pretty nice yukata to choose from too. The onsen's temperature was just nice and not too hot. You could hear the next door private onsen if they speak too loudly. You will have a 1 day pass for public onsen if you booked the private onsen, so it was quite worthwhile to explore the place. Along the way to the changing room you can have your photos taken with their lovely setup.

These photos are taken when I was there shortly after the opening. Now it is prohibited to take pictures of the spa area. Till the end of May, they got promo of S$22.00 (2 hours) if the next day is a weekday. As for facilities, it is not as good as Spa1 or YunoMori, however the electric sauna is hot enough, but the water is not hot enough. The cafe area got nice atmosphere, the staff is friendly, and the woman at reception is chio. Drinks are affordable. Recommend a quick soak in the bathtub&sauna and then relax in the cafe.
