Hello Everybody, hope this review helps with your decision making in choosing an ethical and service orientated maid agency. Question: If helpers work for every employer for 6 months and resign, does the maid agency earns an agency fee from every employer each time a transfer is done? Especially if the maid's loan is cleared. Hired a helper from JPB in June 2019. 1) Helper was unable to speak a single word of English. 2) Religion in work permit and bio sheet was different. 3) Agency used [email protected] email address in the application form which is none of our email address. Just nice after 6 months, helper suddenly says not happy to work for us. 6 months is exactly when "free replacement of helper clause" ends. We had to pay these while they looked for a new employer for her: 1) Helper's monthly food and lodging while the helper is at the maid agency. 2) Unable to cancel her maid insurance and work permit. Therefore, no pro rate refund of the insurance. 3) Continue paying her monthly levy until she finds a new employer even though she is no longer working for our household. 4) Maid agency still called us to extend her work permit so that they can have more time to search for a new employer. This was the last straw. No refund/compensation has been given till date and no attempt to counsel the helper to continue her employment with us was done by the JPB. Just to be clear, we treat our helpers well. She was allowed to use her hand phone anytime (even video call her friends), freedom to leave the house anytime and even take naps in the afternoon.
