β β β β β The pumpkin rice and soup was delicious. The meat is also very tender. Its good on rainy days. The lady boss was really friendly towards her customers.
Highly recommend the ABC pork rib and herbal chicken soup!

β β β β β Amazing soup place. As someone who rarely drinks soup a lot, Katong Soup King really brings out the best flavor in their soup. I highly recommend their signature ABC soup and the pumpkin rice no matter rain or shine. The lady boss is very friendly and she is extremely generous with the portion of the ingredients in the soup.

β β β β β My favourite soup fix weekly! Absolutely love the Radish chicken soup + pumpkin rice. Boss Wendy is the sweetest lady around! Other popular soups are Lotus Root, Herbal Chicken and ABC.

β β β β β Mar 2019. Woohooo. I liked the setup because Gourmet Heritage was supposed to be the differentiator from the food centre just 50m away. Air-conditioned with slightly more enterprised branding.
My expectation was high when i joined the Katong Soup King queue during dinner time.
I ordered the Herbal Chicken Soup with pumpkin rice.
On the eye, the soup was rich brown red with a chicken thigh quarter. I only prayed that the colour was naturally boiled from the herbs.
On the tongue, it was a concoction of medicinal and savoury treat. Well balanced.

The white beans in the "Pig trotters with White Beans" soup has been boiled till it melts in the mouth. The amount of white beans was also more than expected. Overall I would say that the soups retain the natural flavours of the various ingredients which go into them, be it the watercress, the peanuts, the chicken feet or the spare ribs.

β β β β β Lotus root peanut pork rib soup had generous amount of ingredient but somehow it lacked the fragrance of peanuts that I would expect in lotus root soup. Maybe is just me. Pumpkin rice was bland.

β β β β β Probably one of the best soup stalls I've gone to. I've tried a few of the soups, including ABC, radish with chicken, pork ribs with watercress. For all the soups, you can tell the soup has been boiled with care for hours. The mouthfeel is thick with all the collagen and gelatin, and sweet from the ingredients. They don't skimp on the ingredients either. Lots of meat and veggies.
