The coffee and tea here very traditional in style, done very very well indeed and the ginger chicken dish I had was far better than expected. Only reason not to give full five stars was a cluttered untidy entrance-way that makes one doubt the directions. Which is a very good thing. I seriously doubt there is any other joint for half a mile radius this quiet, clean, cool, comfortable with really great food and coffee truly priced for the locals. Oh you do see a few tourists drifting in and out, savily slurping up the goods in a hurry no doubt, before it gets discovered by the crowd

I love this kopitiam it is located inside the mrt. You can go there via Pagoda Street Entrance/Exit. The two elder person are so adorable and kind ? and I love the Kopi C and Kaya Toast. Definitely tastes local.

This small eatery is really a gem hidden near the basement (B1-03) of Exit A at Chinatown MRT. The variety in their menu is so extensive. I tried the BBQ sambal fish set. The BBQ fish was tender in the outside and fragrant sambal covered the Saba fish. It was a generous half big fish that I wondered how the boss makes a profit. My other friend had toast set. Well prepared, great tea with milk and the boss even cracked the half boiled eggs. Will surely go again. Next on my list is chendol, mango sago and maybe the BBQ sambal fish again, after the dessert. A place for quick dinners and casual quick dates.

Quaint little coffee shop that has a lot of variety at reasonable prices. The Kaya toast set is 3.90, and the coffee is not bad. Tried their carrot cake - just not enough flavour compared to hawker center stalls.

Small place tucked in a corner inside Chinatown MRT. We were attracted by the fragrance coming out of it and decided to drop in and give it a try. Amazing for such a small place to sell such a large amount of items, from dessert to drinks, soup to noodles and rice to breakfast items. We tasted their Sasame Oil Chicken for with Black coffee and China Tea for $7.20 which is reasonably price for its location and the taste and quality is well above the price they charged. Wold definitely dropby next time to try other items on their menu.

Cozy little cafe tucked away at the corner of Chinatown MRT (Exit A) B1-03. Reasonably priced food with generous portions. They have a wide variety of selections to choose from. However, please be understanding that your order may take a while. I noticed it was only manned by 3 staff, 2 of whom were elderly. Best to visit slightly before or after lunchtime where there it is less crowded. Kinda gives the old school vibe!
