We come here yearly for ζ‹œε€ͺ岁 during CNY. The queue is well managed and no incense ( it's been replaced by a small piece of wood).

Well organized queue for bai tai sui / bai guan yin. 2 separate lines so that people who dont need to bai tai sui can enter smoothly. Although the queue for bai tai sui is long, it probably only took us 15mins to finish the whole ceremony. Cos the famous auntie doing the tai sui ceremony is not around, (the auntie who will sweep our head with the incense paper and chopping our neck with the red stamp). In replace, 2 monks are present to do a simple tai sui ceremony.

Not as popular as the one at Waterloo Street, it is much quieter and therefore in my mind, a much better place to pray at for devotees. There is a big open-air carpark beside the temple, which is a godsend for drivers during festive occasions.

Very peaceful temple, very clean, and very heavily patronized. In light of covid, though, they're quite strict with their opening hours. We didn't manage to get in that one time we were planning to visit. That said, everything's very optimized here. From process workflows, to the large parking space next to the temple, and the peace you get from praying here. It's definitely one of the better temples around Singapore.

Built in 1921, Kuan Im Tng Temple is a historical and prominent landmark building in Joo Chiat / Katong. Located at 62 Tembeling Road. This Chinese temple featured the Goddess of Mercy (Kuan Yin). Do take note that there's no burning of incense inside this temple. But you are allow and offer 1 short sandalwood stick (replace joss sticks) to offer prayer and thanks. Temple closed on Monday and Tuesday. Opening Hours: Wednesday to Sunday 9am to 4pm including Public Holiday

Our family members have been worshipping and been involved in thanksgiving at this temple as far back as during our grandparents' era. It has always been a delightful experience for us all especially during our visits to the temples during festive periods, one of which is prayers to Tai Sui ε€ͺ岁. This year's visit was laden with surprises when I was given a vegetarian meal complete with soup! To the temple who saw us through childhood, rain and shine in our lives and right up to our old age now, we are eternally grateful to its steadfast religious support, δΈ‡εˆ†ηš„ζ„Ÿζ©! ❀?

Want to pray Taisui on a Friday morning around 1030am. Not that crowded. Temple opened from 9am to 3pm for Tai Sui praying. Closed on Monday and Tuesday. Tai Sui praying this year is from 1st Feb to 16 Feb 2022. Suggested not to eat meat before praying for tai sui or any other praying. This is to show respect to Kuan Yin. 2022 Zodiac Signs Affected:Β Tiger, Monkey, Pig, Snake Waiting time for queue to get into temple is about 15 mins. Registration for Tai Sui praying is about 5 mins. Just need provide Chinese name, date of birth, time of birth and pay $10. Can also pray for family and friends if you know their personal particulars. There's a free pen for you to take home after writing down your particulars. You will be issued 2 forms. The blue carbon copy is to give the monks later and the white original form is for your own reference. It will take another 10 minutes queue to safe entry and meet the monks. Every one is masked and social distance 1m is practised. The monk will read the patron's name and particulars and conduct the Tai sui ceremony. Then he will dip a sprig of bodhi leaves and sprinkle some water over patrons to bless them. This process takes about 5 mins or so. After which you can take home a small bag of uncooked rice. This is to thank patrons and bless them. The patrons can then pray to the deities and make a donation of any amount. Whole process of praying taisui is less than 30 to 40 mins. There are quite a few staff on crowd control management and the temple is never crowded at anytime. These days there is no conventional Incense burning. Instead patrons are given these short wooden sticks to represent Incense. The temple was never crowded or noisy or smoky. There's a big open air public car park next to temple. Return Tai Sui is from 25 Oct to 8 Nov 2022.
