โ โ โ โ โ One of the worst fried fish soup noodles I had eaten. First and last. How could a poor standard like this have gotten Michelin Star??

โ โ โ โ โ The fish porridge went above and beyond my expectations. The broth is super flavorful, the fish pieces were substantial (and salted appropriately).
Can't wait to go back

โ โ โ โ โ Not bad. Wanted to try the fried and blanched fish but no more fried fish.
So ordered the fish porridge instead. Broth is very Unami with fresh fish.

โ โ โ โ โ Definitely fresh and tasty soup. Itโs probably up there with the rest of fish soup hawkers in terms of quality but way down the list in terms of quantity.

โ โ โ โ โ Already ordered my breakfast till I walk pass this stall. This stall sibei smart, have a large #michelin lighting at stall front. So join in the queue and ordered a bowl @ $6.
#FishSoup has a ๆธ
็ (light n sweet) with a hint of savoury taste. More then 8 slices of small to middle size batang fish. Overall tasty. But really #FML as I ate 2 dishes for my breakfast. Getting rounder liao. Only thing Heng is both dishes taste good. Cheers!

This shop faces the food centre's car park and serves up fresh Batang Fish (Spanish Mackerel) soup. A long time shop from the old Orchard Road Car Park at where Orchard Gateway stands today, it moved to Newton Food Centre in the 1970s. Today it is helmed by the second generation hawker who took over from his father.
Popular during lunchtime, in the evenings it is less crowded. Their most popular dish here is the Sliced Fish Porridge. Another popular combination is to enjoy the Dual Fish Soup with Ee Mee.
The hawker uncle can be a little grumpy if you flip flop on your orders so please save yourself the angst by deciding on what you want before approaching to order. Don't be one of those who are still deciding when it is your turn to order. This stall is also a self-service so you have got to bus your dishes to your table on your own.
General Verdict: Fresh fish in a great bowl of Teochew Porridge. Pairs really well with a bowl of rice.
Opening Hours: Daily 11am to 8pm (Closed on Mondays)
Queue Situation: About 10 to 15 mins during lunch but next to no queue during other times
Payment Mode: Cash, Local Internet Banking by QR code or AMEX (Singapore) Pay

โ โ โ โ โ The fish is outstanding - big slices cut expertly to preserve the mackerel oils, they melt in your mouth with layers of fragrant oils in between. Everything else - like the soup and lettuce - is soso, but the fish is definitely worth returning for.
