Delicious handmade Teochew kueh. If you come before lunch, you can actually see them preparing the kueh. I recommend buying the steamed ones because sometimes the pan-fried ones can be a little tough. But I personally like a little more texture to my food. If you are planning to get this, please be prepared to queue.

Delicious handmade Teochew Kueh stall at YuHua... usally with a queue in the morning till lunch time. And an even longer queue of at least 10 or more in the weekends. They sell both steamed and pan-fried versions... pan-fried ones cost 10cts more. Like their Peng Kueh and Soon Kueh... Buy at least 5 or more for taeaways to have it packed in styrofoam box and 1 packet of chilli and 1 packet of sweet sauce each

They make the best png kueh and soon kueh that I ever had. I’ve been having this for years and I’m never disappointed.

While in the vicinity of Jurong East Swimming Complex, decided to drop by Yuhua Market & Hawker Centre to try another Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore 2021 winner . Lai Heng Handmade Teochew Kueh sells the typical Teochew Kueh that locals love such as Png Kueh (Rice Cake), Soon Kueh (Bamboo Shoots Cake), Bao Cai Kueh (Cabbage Kueh) and Gu Cai Kueh (Leeks Cake). General Verdict: Local Teochew Kueh at Affordable Pricing. Tastes good too but not worth a special trip if not in the vicinity. Opening Hours: Daily 6:30am-2:30pm (Closed on Mondays) Queue Situation: About 5 to 10 mins Payment Mode: Cash, Local Internet Banking by QR code or AMEX (Singapore) Pay Is this worth a try? Yes Is it worth making a trip just to try it? Maybe not. Is this worthy of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award? Unlikely. Items Ordered: 1) Item: Soon Kueh (Bamboo Shoots Cake) 筍粿 - Pan-Fried Description: Yummy bamboo shoots in a properly pan fried kueh Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$1 2) Item: Bao Cai Kueh (Cabbage Cake) 包菜粿 - Pan-Fried Description: The Bao Cai was not too watery and had great flavour Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$1 3) Item: Png Kueh (Rice Cake) 米粿 - Pan-Fried Description: A good mix of glutinous rice in a pan fried goodness Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$1.20 4) Gu Cai Kueh (Leeks Cake) 韭菜粿 - Pan-Fried Description: Yummy kueh that is pan fried properly with yummy leeks within Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$1

The soon kueh is ok; nothing to shout about. It’s not the luminous crystal clear skin type. Filling is also ok only. Not worth to Q but always there is a long queue.

Soon kueh remind me of the nice old school taste with a hint of pepper where else i find the png kueh more of those soft and chewy kind. Queue is quite long but staffs are friendly .

First time trying the kuehs here. It's has been long queue on Sunday morning but this is worth for queuing. Was takeout to eat at home. Pan fried the kuehs are nice and also make it served hot too. After do take note pan fried rice kueh will become hard after few hours.

Wonderful handmade teochew kueh. If you’re in the area it’s worth a visit. Try all the kueh. The soon and gu chai out are favorites. We’ve been da bao’ing for years. Quality hasn’t dropped and glad to see them earn a Bib Gourmand nod.
