Took away from Liang ji today. Wanted to support the boss before he closes this outlet. Boss is friendly and helpful. Even halfway through his lunch, he cooked my orders first. Kudos to the great attitude. Ordered yuan yang cai tao kway aka black/white carrot cake as well as the premium fried kway teow. For both dishes you could literally taste the "wok hei" aka breath of the wok. I left them for a while before consuming. Fried kway teow was not overwhelmingly sweet. Cockles were huge and crab meat was legit. The carrot cake had just the right amount of chai poh aka preserved vegetables. All the best boss! Hope to revisit when you found a new place!

Lunch date at Liang Ji with my kakis. Location:?? 261 Waterloo Street #01-29 If you want extra boost to seh kia ?? Go for the big fresh ? ? Okay jokes aside.. just wanna say I don’t know @liangjishiye for long, but anyone who knows him / seen him at work, can see that he dedicated alot time perfecting his dishes and trying his best to retain it at affordable hawker rates. ? There’s quite a wholesome variety to choose from! E.g mala char kway teow ? Pandemic hit many food owners badly. If you are nearby? Go try! If you ain’t? Can still share share! 你不会失望的。 (P.s cafe next door serves bitter sweet chocolate ? drinks too).

Love the unique creative Carrot Cake and the Fried Oyester hardly any oil...the Oyester was good and relative big. Mr Neo is a magnanimous, passionate and friendly person who strive hard and proud of his creative dishes.

A moist and sweeter style of CKT. The almost raw cockles are buried under the freshly fried noodles so it is not overly done. For those who like it more cooked, do point it. The owner is friendly as well.

I love this store! The portion is extremely generous, and at an affordable price! The uncle is extremely friendly too!! I tried the uncle's new creation, tuna fried carrot cake! The wok hei was perfect, and the tuna had zero hint of fishiness. Would definitely patronise again! ?

Are you Team Black or Team White for carrot cake? I will go for Team Hae Bee Hiam this time with Liang Ji The Legendary's Hae Bee Hiam Carrot Cake! Trust me that you will love those Hae Bee Hiam bits sandwiched between the carrot cake! The spicy level was of the right balanced, the texture added a crunch and the taste paired well! For the Orh Luak fans! I am no fan of it as I find most that were sold outside very raw. The Oyster Omelette by Liang Ji was very fresh, plump and juicy, definitely worth the dollars you are paying with the generous portion! Be sure to dip in the chilli! The Premium Crab Meat Char Kway Teow won't lose out to the rest. The wok hei taste of the CKT just brings out what a supposingly good CKT should be like and topped with real generous spread of Crab Meat. Be sure to put it on your to-try list if you are in the hood! 梁记 Liang Ji The Legendary Blk 261 Waterloo Street # 01-29 Singapore 180261 82265585 (WA) Nearest station: Bras Basah Exit D (2 mins walk)

Liang Ji the Legendary doesn’t just serve Char Kway Teow.. it serves your Char Kway Teow from the heart! We were served by the friendly boss, Dominic when we arrived. He took our orders and told us to take our seat and he will serve us our orders. Not many hawkers have the trust nor the patience to serve their customers and let them pay later. I ordered the premium crab meat char Kway Teow, regular char Kway Teow and yuan yang carrot cake. I was disappointed that the hae bee hiam carrot cake was not available due to shortage of this ingredient from Malaysia. :( I was served with a most glorious char Kway Teow with a lot of hidden cockles (yay!) under the hot plate of noodles. The cockles was not over cooked nor did it have a smell. The wok hey was strong and Kway Teow was just right, not too soft. I was missing some pork lard, but that’s not very important to me. The crab meat was very generous and fresh. The carrot cake was good. I love the black carrot cake more than the white one. Add in the sambal at the side and it gave an extra kick to the dish. Due to Covid which claimed a lot of hawker stalls, Dominic is unfortunately closing his stall end of June 2022. I am looking forward to the opening of his new stall to eat his creations once he finds an appropriate venue.
