I would like to give special ‘Thank You‘ to Teacher C Mary from Punggol Branch. As my girl (age 8) did not have a good foundation in recognising n reading of words, she is consider slow in terms of her language compared to her peers. As a mother, I am definitely worry that she would not be able to catch up and with the home-based learning during Covid-19, it made things worst. I need to manage both my work as well as monitoring her school work (P1) and when she cannot even read simple words like ‘there‘, ‘where‘ etc. In fact, I did not pay much attention on her until P2, that her school teacher highlighted to me on her progression during the parents-teachers conference. After discussion and deep thought as my girl has passed the early stage of learning phonics. I started to look for phonics lessons despite the age constrain and explained my situation to Teacher Mary. Teacher Mary assessed my girl's standard and started her with other students much younger (age 4, 5) at the Intermediated level. Within the year, she moved on to Advanced level and is more confident now in reading n recognising of words by herself. Weekly lesson of 1.5 hours with Teacher Mary definitely helps my girl, school teachers also commented that they see improvement in her. I would not hesitate to recommend Teacher C Mary to any parents facing the same situation like me. Lastly, my girl will be graduating from her Advance level end of this year. Last but not least, ‘Thank You‘ once again Teacher C Mary for your patient, professionalism and care for the children.

My child used to attend I Can Read for close to 2yrs but I didn’t notice much improvement so I decided to source for alternatives and I found Teacher Mary via google search. Classes were originally conducted at her home in Punggol which is clean and conducive. When disrupted by covid restrictions, classes continue to be seamlessly conducted online. My daughter remained engaged throughout the 1.5hrs session with Teacher Mary. She has shown a lot of progress in a short span of time and is able to read independently now at 6yrs old. Teacher Mary’s classes are also very affordable and definitely provides much higher yield compared to many heavily commercialized and much more expensive centres in this industry.

My daughter (K1) attends C.Mary class in Punggol since January 2021. Yesterday, my daughter’s school teacher feedback that she has improved tremendously in phonics and can read many sight words now. She tries hard to blend when she can’t read. I am thankful that I have chosen T. Mary class to help my daughter in phonics. Zoom lessons are conducted in an orderly and fun way. Children are meaningfully engaged at all times, even during toilet break. Thank u, Tr Mary :)

Teacher Mary is very patient and fun when conducting lessons. My daughter always told me that she likes the lessons as Teacher Mary is very funny. She attended the phonics lessons a bit late when she was already 4.5years old. She was not able to read well at that time so I got worried and decided to enroll her to this class after much research. I liked that the class can be conducted virtually and the fees are very reasonable. Fast forward to 1.5 years later, she can already read entire book on her own without my help and some of these books are for older kids. Definitely a vast improvement from the time she started. Really happy that she can complete her advanced level before she starts primary school.

Teacher Mary is a very experienced teacher and I’m glad I was introduced to her. My son started with her from the beginner stage at around 4yo and has since completed the advanced course at 6yo. The variety of resources provided are useful in guiding my child to read and write. He can already read pretty well at 6yo. Most importantly, he enjoys the classes. Definitely recommended!

I sent my son for phonics class very late. I sent him when he was 6yo, in Dec, just a month away before entering P1. And he still did not know how to read, even a simple word like "Cat". I got so worried and was recommended by my cousin, Teacher Mary Cate. Enrolled him and was surprised that he was able to read simple words in just about 1 to 2months. And by mid year, he was able to read sentences and storybooks on his own. He also can do his school spelling easily just by making the sound of the letter. He enjoyed Teacher Mary Cate's lessons, be it physically or via zoom. Most importantly, he really had fun learning and can see his progression really well. Thank you Teacher Mary Cate :)

My both girls are happy to attend Teacher Mary’s phonics lessons. The eldest has joined the class about 2 years and now she has completed the advanced lessons. She is able to read aloud and fluently at her own now. We are really glad to see that she can read confidently and enjoying her stories books during her free time. She also got “Mastery Grade” from her P1 English teacher for her English Listening, Reading and Writing skills in term 1. Once again, thanks to Teacher Mary for the efforts and times in educating our children!
