MacRitchie Reservoir Park - Lornie Rd

One of the best hiking places in Singapore where a trail runs through thick forest protecting you from sunlight and in some parts along the reservior's side providing scenic photography place. Recommended to start quite early as it gets quite hot towards noon. Beware of those chicky monkeys though.

it would be more enjoyable if u came early where u can enjoy the sunrise, peacefulness, calmness with less crowd..

It's a large rustic park built around a reservoir with boardwalks built around it's perimeter. Lots of monkeys ply this area looking for hand outs. Sadly, the entrance has not sense of arrival, just a multistorey car park and a brick road leading to the reservoir.

Nice park near the city center, it’s easy to access by taking bus or MRT. The trail along the reservoir is flat and easy to walk, and you can see the old dam structure from below. However, there are quite a number of monkeys that disturb the visitors near the food stall at the entrance.

Impressive trails along the reservoir. Happen to see the kayak competition of polys. You can see lots of monkeys under the trees. Most importantly, it’s quite easy to get to this park, other than other hiking places. Super recommend!

Escape from the urban bustle. Loved being one with nature and nice shady walks in the trails. A must-do for all nature-addicts. Beware of monkeys though, they can get too keen to interact if you’re in their space..

Fantastic slice of nature in the concrete jungle of Singapore! :) Various nature trails and walks from a couple of kilometers to above 10km to choose from. I did the shorter boardwalk, which has a nice pavement laid out through the trial, avoiding any potential muddy track situation. The walk was scenic with fabulous views of the serene reservoir, green trees, and cheeky monkeys. The monkeys didn't bother us this time, but it's advised not to bring food, so as not to tempt the monkeys to reach out and grab. Arriving in the evening, the sun was going down, thus it was quite a comfortable temperature for a walk. The air was cooling and refreshing while walking amongst the shady trees. Toilets, showering, and water filling facilities are provided at the bottom/start of the reservoir near the carpark. I look forward to coming back, and attempting the longer walks :)

Easily one of the best walks and trails in Singapore. Do the full 11 km circle or do one of the smaller walks, walk along the water body or through the hilly ups and downs. There is something for everyone. And it does have come really amazing views.
