Mun Fu has the best combination of tender roasted and steamed chicken;
the rice is tasty and firm and full of umami!
Just the way I like it.
And their chilli sauce w ginger is just the right formula.
Although there’s always a queue, it moves fast due to the efficient and friendly service by the 3 to 4 guys manning the store.
And their pricing gives you good value for money

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seriously this is the hidden gem. Some weekends I will purposely travel there to pack. The rice is very fragrant, the chicken is juicy and soft, while the chilli is spicy & rich. All combination come in perfect and I have to rate them higher than those famous chicken stalls or restaurants. Wondering why it never get a Michelin Bib.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chance upon this stall selling pretty good chicken rice over at cheng san market and food centre. The queue was quite long when i was there,seems like a popular stall. Waited close to 10mins before it was my turn to order. They served both roasted and the normal chicken. Chicken rice starts from SGD$3 and depends on the cut you chose.
Decided to go for the roasted one, had the chicken breast meat. Meat was a little tough but full of flavour espicially the skin. Rice was frangrance and not too oily. Chili was equally good as well, compliment the meat well.
Will definitely try the poached chicken the next time round!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the BEST chicken rice ever! The chicken is so juicy and tender. Small details tells me this stall sells chicken rice with a lot of pride. Cucumber sliced into thin even strips and the parsley looks freshly plucked. I brought my bowl back to the stall to top up my clear soup, to my surprise the stall holder said better to have a new bowl. I got just that, another bowl of fresh hot steaming clear soup with spring onion topping.
My other half have been eating this stall for 20 over years, he also witness the boss pouring down a pot ot chicken gravy into the sink because he think it is sub standard! Really impressing. On the way out, I saw a delivery man pushing a trolley of golden phoenix rice to ManFu. The boss is a proud chicken man all right, respect!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible Chicken Rice, found my new favorite. Came straight from the airport on a layover & it was well worth the trip. We got a 2nd order it was so good. Whole crew is nice. Can’t wait to go back.
