β β β β β We used to love this school, especially the primary school. But ever since the administration changed to the current one it went completely downhill, ultimately causing us to take both our children out of the school.
Some of the "highlights" include (as of end of 2020):
- lower year secondary school math is taught primarily by using apps like mathspace. There is minimal actual instruction from teachers. Kids are grouped into one of three sections every three weeks based on a test *on the upcoming material*. Kids who are good at math can be placed in the lower sections simply because they don't know the material that they haven't been taught yet. Kids who do not learn well from reading online material struggle.
- the administration systematically dismantled the Nexus Parent Group after the NPG collated and forwarded negative feedback from parents regarding changes to the student contracts. The board responded to a letter from the NPG by claiming that they have no need to answer them as they do not recognize them having any kind of authority. The principal ultimately replaced the NPG with a group which she controlled which no longer independently represented parents.
- repeated comments and concerns from parents fell on deaf ears. In general such issues seemed to be treated as marketing problems, as evidenced by the inclusion of marketing staff at administration-parent meetings before having admin officials attend.
- a past school counselor (who I believe is no longer employed there) made lofty promises but failed to follow up and take any meaningful action after an initial meeting.
- several of the best staff have left and systematically been replaced with former colleagues of the current administration.
Do yourself a favor and consider one of the many other international schools in Singapore.

β β β β β I fail to see where some of the negative comments are coming from. This is a fabulous school, the new campus is amazing, the enrolment process was great, the staff and teachers are incredible. The way Nexus handled and adapted to Covid-19 should, in my view, be applauded.
Sure, like any school, there can be some bad moments particularly caused by some βprivileged kidsβ but the school and staff do their best to manage those situations. My daughter is extremely happy there and has made a load of friends.
P.S whatβs wrong with their advertising? How is that different than seeing Wandavision?

β β β β β Only allow certain year groups, generally typical school cafe access that should be accessible. This used to not be a problem before 2020 at Ulu Pandan.

β β β β β Most modern international school in Singapore. Open Jan 2020. Nursery to Y13. Easy access from both Mattar and Aljunied MRT

β β β β β My daughter has been attending Nexus (Singapore) for the past two years and we are so happy she has the opportunity to study here. The teachers she has had have been brilliant, focusing on each student and how they work best. We have never had any problems with the school, everything is dealt with very efficiently and the school encourages the parents to be involved, and to give opinions on different aspects of the school.
One of the things I notice most about the school is how happy the students are - I am at the school every day to drop off and pick my daughter up, there is such a good community spirit; not only shared between the students but with the staff too. I feel a big part of this is due to the core values of the school and how these are taught to the students.
I think the IB curriculum taught at the school is fantastic, and have seen how much my daughter has grown and is every day improving since she started studying there.
I would highly recommend Nexus to any parent in Singapore who is looking for a welcoming and inclusive international school.

β β β β β The school is like a mall. Altho i dont go to it to study, i do go there for BARCA Academy training and the football field is good, but there is no clock to keep track of time.

β β β β β Happy to take 2 application fees from us, however the year head said they couldn't offer the eldest the "learning experience" he would thrive in as the year group was "difficult". Very frustrating, never heard back on our second application!

β β β β β Nexus was one of the worst schools that I had attended, they primarily teached math by using an app called math space, the app is horrible and my parents were paying for me to be taught by a teacher not an online programme. The overall experience was toxic and rude, I had multiple friends say that both councillors were horrible and not understanding of their issues. The students that go to nexus are stuck in a toxic raft that ended up with me taking over 6 months to make proper friends (Almost everyone there has said the same thing in the higher year levels. Do not send your kids here. This experience resulted in me hating international schools so much to the point that I moved back to boarding school in nz my home country and I love it here so please do not send your kids to nexus, it will result in them gaining nothing from the 'learning experience' as well as them feeling stupid and bad at school work due to the teachers. The experience was so bad that I moved just before I was about to do my igcse exams. All of my friends and people that I have talked to have said the same about the school
Former nexus student till the end of 2021,
