A bit disappointing on my second visit to Nixta. Cocktails surprisingly are a miss, had a Nixta Especial but lacked the kick of a good margarita, would not recommend any of the cocktails here. Appetisers and the queso fundido were great, quesadilla Oaxaca was small for the price but quite tasty. Was very disappointed by the tomahawk this time. First time was on point and was excited for it again. Ordered medium rare but it definitely came out rare, the mood definitely dropped when we saw how red the meat was. Had to ask them to cook it again and winded up with some well done slices instead. Was also over salted and just generally disappointing. For 185 sgd you would expect a much better steak. Won’t be back for awhile, hope the food program improves and someone looks at this feedback.

There's no space inside to wait the restaurant, so if you're even a few minutes early for your reservation you'll stand on the road like we did. The drinks, like all the food are surprisingly expensive. Whilst the duck was lovely, there's very little on offer for vegetarians and nothing for vegans. The churro desert was great, the cake was a bit meh. Meal for two with one drink each, and one desert cost $180.

I wouldn’t consider myself an expert on Mexican food, but even from my limited experience I can reassuringly say, Nixta won’t leave you disappointed. The setting is modern and stylish, and the service is polite although we did need to order our drinks a couple times due to perhaps a miss-comm. Anyway the main treat was the food and drink. Our group of four was advised to go for two starters, a corn pizza style dish as well as a main. It was a good amount of food and importantly left room for desert. Firstly the nachos were what you would expect, crispy and served with a good lumpy Avacado dip. So far so good. The pizza style ‘heirloom corn masa’ was surprisingly delicious, with a crispy base covered in lobster meat and herbs, that was a perfect balance of crisp and tasty meat. The bang bang potatoes were also a surprisingly good combo of roast potatoes with a cheesy topping to have them moorish. The main event of steak fajitas also didn’t disappoint. The beef was perfectly cooked on a bed of mixed peppers and veg that were accompanied by perfect little fajitas that were light and tasty. The meal was rounded of by two delicious deserts of tiramisu which was fluffy and light as well as a whirl of churros that made each bite a delight. We then helped it all go down with some excellent agave tequila that was recommended to our taste by the knowledgeable staff. All in all, it was a great Mexican experience of food and drinks that left us wanting to come back for more.

Nice interior and vibes overall. A little overpriced in my opinion. Esp the fish - it was $89 for a small portion and the oysters were disappointing. My favourite dish was the burnt corn masa and duck. The passionfruit margarita was really good. Overall i think worth trying once!

Quiet on a Sunday Dinner timeslot. Food was pricey, 4 pax ~$200 for 1 side, 2 starters & 2 mains. We had Bang Bang Potatoes which was slightly too salty for our liking but loved the sour cream dip to contrast. Tlayuda de la Casa was pretty good, 6 slices to share and the corn was really juicy & sweet. Quesadilla Oaxaca (4 pieces) is a must order, great flavours topped with fresh guac, the wrap had a nice smokey fragrant. Mains we had Kurobuta Pork Belly Al Pastor which was pretty good, 8 tortilla wraps to share. Pork belly was served with onions & pineapple with a side of dipping sauce (this was so good but spicy!). Signature Spit & Herb Roasted Chicken needed 1 hour wait and thankfully this dish was yummy, well marinated, flavourful and very juicy. Really nice ambience for celebrations or gatherings, great service too.

Good Mexican food which is a bit different from typical Mexican restaurants here that serve mostly burritos and tacos. We followed the staff's recommendation on the tlayuda de la casa and quesadilla oaxaca. I personally enjoy them. Duck barbacoa is visually a show-stopper but thought the warm corn tortillas on the side were not as nice. They were brittle on the tongue. The churros is so so popular but I find it very greasy and crispy without much dough inside. Price is on the higher end. Service could be better in terms of staffing- seems like they don't have enough floor crew because it's so difficult to get their attention.

A friend recommended me to Nixta. Booking in advance is a must and she recommended the Nixta Signature Spit & Herb Roasted Chicken. This dish needs to be ordered in advance as they take time to cook it, so you would see the online reservations webpage asking if you want to book this dish in advance. I really enjoyed the Blue Crab Tlayuda ( corn pizza with crab) , the Guacamole Nixta and the chicken. Service was good and staff were friendly. The server was very kind to offer us a complimentary green rice ( rice cooked with chicken stock and cilantro… yum!) The atmosphere was relaxing ( we went on a weekday).

The appetizers and desserts were better than mains. The chicken that required to be ordered in advance was really average. Felt it wasn't really flavorful, it smelt great, however was rather tasteless when I ate it. Perhaps the preordering raised my expectation of the dish. The appetizers were nicer but those could also be available at other restaurants.
