If your husband has angered you and offers to pay for dinner as a peace offering, that dinner should put a dent in his wallet, so a place like The Clubroom is perfect. If he's really sorry, don't waste his guilt: make sure to order and devour freshly-shucked oysters at $10 apiece with reckless abandon, then wash down with a bottle of Brut.
The Clubroom is Travis Masiero's newest brainchild, and she's fast become a go-to place for date nights. Expats seem to make up for the main crowd at the Clubroom, with only two tables in the entire restaurant occupied by Asians the entire night. I don't blame them-- the Clubroom reminds me of a swanky Manhattan bar with a long waitlist and snooty hostess. The Clubroom is a reservations-only outfit that has all the trappings of a 1920s New York speakeasy. Discreet doorbell to gain access, check. Dark, moody, surroundings that scream art deco, check. Overpriced alcohol menu, check check check (The wine mark-up is eye-popping, with a patron noting on Google Review that a $35 bottle of wine cost $250 at the Clubroom). The Clubroom is sleek and stylish, what with her dark leather-wrapped ceiling, checkered floors, and marble countertop. It's a small restaurant with less than 10 tables and low ceilings, making for a better date night destination than a night out with friends.
A side of crispy Sicilian olives is served as an on-the-house starter. I'm not one to eat olives, but here, it's deep-fried and stuffed with cheese, a perfect companion to a dirty martini. The lobster slider starters were divine: freshly shucked, succulent, and filled with a natural sweetness that jars against the salty buttered buns it's served on. Items from Masiero's sister concepts appear on the menu: Lukeβs famous Lobster Mac & Cheese and a Blue Label burger are available for order at The Clubroom. The Mac & Cheese was divine with fat chunks of lobster and covered with a Ritz cracker crumble. The burger and the beef tartare were decent enough, but nothing to write home about. To add the meal on a sweet note, you canβt go wrong with Lukeβs take on milk and cookies: Here, a classic chocolate chip cookie is served alongside a boozy stout milkshake. While the food hits some high notes, letβs be realβ no one really goes to the Clubroom to eat. The atmosphere and ambience are enough reasons to visit.
The Clubroom boasts a beautiful space and stellar service, but she will cost you if you're not a dainty eater that can get full on a burger. Expected damage, $150++ per pax with drinks. Hand the bill to your husband and assure him that you'll hold the brut if he behaves next time.

β β β β β Same food as that of Lukeβs Oyster Bar. What makes this more special is the decor and the vibes. Great ambience. Worth a visit..2β¦.3β¦ Will be back.

β β β β β Nice ambience but it was incredibly overpriced. 5 people shared a seafood platter, steak, schnitzel, omelette and 1 bottle of wine and the bill came up to an eye popping 800+. The mark up for the wines are very high as mentioned in some other reviews. Food was good but not anything to warrant the prices.

β β β β β Beautiful interior with friendly staff. The beef I ordered was underwhelming. My partner had the pork chop and said it was cooked perfectly. Wine prices are a bit steep. Had a $35 bottle and paid $250 for it in the restaurant

β β β β β Love the atmosphere here. Atmosphere and ambience is greater than the food. Be here and be prepared to spend some money and have a thrilling night chilling with your friends, and for having some good chats.
Make sure you take some photos for memoryβs sake. Lighting here is awesome. Tasteful interior design and details.

β β β β β Exclusive and Private / this is the place to live it up within a cosy table of four / five! The portion is big so good to share among two to three friends. In fact, if you order enough, itβs great to have more dishes amongst the four.
