Allan Low is a proactive and flexible ID with great practical design. We are glad that we found him as our ID and not others. He is responsible and reliable (which is very important as reno are not cheap nowadays). We have heard from our friends how bad their reno journey can be. We are really thankful ours is a pleasant one, that is why we recommend you hire an ID in a legitimate firm. Reno went smoothly even there are some hiccups due to CB and project got delayed. But Allan never fails to follow up with prompt updates and gave us the assurance that the task can complete within the agreed budget and revised timeline by being resourcefulness turning things around and make it work for us. Our new home is comfy and minimalistic just the way we foresee it. We love the kitchen island especially! Highly recommend him to my friends and family. hehe thank you, Allan and your carpentry team!

We were recommended to 5 different ID firms by friends and we had the best initial discussion with Raymond Chong from Northwest Interior amongst all the other IDs. I wanted a spacious and neat kitchen that is not cluttered with too many cabinets and for the common bathroom to be easily accessible and bright. My husband had always wanted an open concept bathroom that can be found in luxurious hotels which he adores. It is certainly not an easy design and how Raymond was able to work it out for us was amazing. At times, we can be rather particular with our preference for color tones but Raymond was very patient with us when we rejected some of his designs along the way. He adapted quickly to our change of mind and managed to also give us very good suggestions that we took up. It was a wonderful experience working with ID Raymond and we would like to thank Northwest Interior team for giving us a beautiful home to come back to after work.

We were in pursuit of an interior designer who can translate the visual ideas into a real life home, and Nicholas was clearly the person we were looking for. We got to know about Nicholas through a mutual acquaintance who recommended him to us. The response on Nicholas side was always swift. His follow up strategy was good, and design propositions were excellence, Nicholas was able to bring out the right personality for the home interior design. We'll definitely work with Nicholas again for our next upgrade!! Good job Nicholas!!

A short appreciate note to our ID(Sylvia Hoo from Northwest Macpherson Branch) for her hard work and patience for making our new home reno journey an enjoyable one! First of all, Sylvia is responsive and responsible, which my wife and I like about her. Her proposed design is excellent and fit our budget. Secondly, the carpentry team also did a fantastic job in the living, kitchen and bedrooms. We were impressed with the attention to details and overall, even some issues arise, it's resolved relatively promptly, and we didn't have to worry with Sylvia around. Lastly, hand over time is tight, but Sylvia managed to push through everything so we can move in comfortably. We are thankful for her coordination and did recommend her to our friends, you should too!

After consulting 4 interior design companies, we decided to engage Northwest Interior Design to perform the renovation of our kitchen, electrical works and painting for the whole house. The excellent customer service and suggestions rendered by Ben Chen triggered the decision to choose Northwest over its competition. The renovation experience was excellent from the beginning to end, even though we were living in the house during the renovation period. Ben Chen was extremely helpful and provided expert advice during our shopping trips in the selection of materials and necessities. Communication was excellent with updates via Whatsapp on crew arrival times. Ben Chen and his team were professional and courteous throughout. The quality of the work was outstanding with very few defects which were addressed very quickly. We were very impressed by all the tradespeople involved in the renovation process, especially the carpentry and electricians, who provided such a high quality of workmanship than expected. Our place was left considerably clean and tidy when the renovation was completed.

1)Contractor, Clinton did not make do his promise on the refund of tiles he over-purchased on our account The tiles were left in the open outside our unit with no protection (under rain and sun). The packaging were soften and damaged during the rainy season. After multiple feedback to the contractor, he managed to refund 2 boxes of tiles from the company - those at the bottom of the pile) He did not mention loose pieces are not refundable. During cleaning up, we realised multiple boxes of tiles were open... Question: there was only 1 worker laying the tiles why is there a need to open multiple boxes of tiles? 2) Poor workmanship The carpentry of the cupboard were badly done.... incorrect measurement delayed the renovation, this also reflect badly on their expertise especially the contractor's management skills.... 3) Good Electricians 5 stars given to them... provided us good suggestions on the lightings and assistance Overall 2 stars... very responsive to get money from us but work not done properly... I personally don't recommend... maybe is the contractor not the company's fault even though he was recommended by a friend. He insisted to get balance payment from us, wanted us to sign the revised invoice and handover form. We negotiated not to sign the handover form until he fix all outstanding problems since there is only 1 month warranty. Until now, it is still not settle

I had small projects done by them before and so I thought to engage them to renovate my library into an office space. My request was simple, I wanted them to remove the false ceiling and install a trackless light weight bi-folding glass door on one side of the room to partition the area. I walked into their MacPherson store and waiting for their staff to talk to me. This guy clearly is lazy. He was trying to talk me out of removing my false ceiling on account of too much work and expensive. The last straw for me was when he told me they don’t have the type of folding door I wanted even though I showed him pictures of what exactly I needed. I just walked out at that point. I can understand if you are a manufacturer that would not produce the type of door that I want, if you are an interior designing company which is really a project manager, your job is only to source for what your clients wanted. To say you don’t have is really - “I’m too lazy to go find it for you”. I think I dodge a bullet there.

We went to around six (6) different ID renovation companies and found NorthWest Interior’s quote to be the cheapest. Their showroom is nice and the ID we spoke to said that their company is big and they don’t have problem with manpower. Based on the scope of works we’ve discussed, he said they can finish it in 8 weeks. We confirmed and paid the deposit 5 weeks before the renovation start date. The renovation works started on time but after 1 week of hacking, no workers showed up and no updates or anything from our ID. When we asked him why no one is working in the flat for 5 straight days. He said we cannot expect to have worker their everyday. We asked him about the agreed schedule and to give us timeline of the works but he doesn’t want to commit anything and just told us that they will finish the project. The agreed 8 weeks became 10 weeks and the whole flat is still very messy. Tiling works was 15% complete; electrical work was 50%; painting was 80% complete; and NO cabinets/carpentry works done. We need to reschedule our move-in 2 times because the ID always tell us last minute that we still cannot move. We moved-in while flat was still under renovation as we don’t have other place to go and he cannot give us a definite date when will they finish the renovation. THE PROMISED 8 WEEKS OF RENOVATION WAS ONLY COMPLETED AFTER 7.5 MONTHS. Their masonry/tiling works were so bad. The slope in the toilets were not properly done. There were water ponding on places that there shouldn’t be. For the tile grout, there were places in between the tiles that they missed and for those that have grouts, it is mostly uneven. We asked them to rectify it, they obliged but the workmanship is really bad. It came to the point that we were so tired and frustrated, we just accepted the finished work. It seems that their tiler is not skilled and just do their work anyhow. Only good thing that I can say is their electrical works. The electrical sub-contractor is knowledgeable, easy to talk to, do their work meticulously and timely. For our ID, it’s difficult for me to call him Interior Designer as he doesn’t have that much input on the design. He just did coordination work and cannot even give a proper schedule or timeline. He merely call worker/s to go to our flat and tell us the day that worker will come. He doesn’t do quality check after the workers finished their work. Most of the time, the worker is not aware of their full work scope because he didn’t even brief them. After the worker/sub-contractor is done with their work, they will report to him and he will tell us that it’s finish without checking. Whenever we checked, the work is not yet complete and not properly done. It will take weeks again before he can arrange a worker to do the work. The stresses (that caused us health problems) and inconvenience brought to us by this contractor cannot compare to the amount we saved on the quotation. WE MADE THE WRONG DECISION TO ENGAGED THEM IN OUR FLAT RENOVATION. We cannot tell it beforehand as he seems good when we were discussing and before we paid the deposit. When the renovation works began, that’s the time we saw his true attitude. He is arrogant, unprofessional and has “cannot do” attitude. He was not even aware of the things included in the quotation (he prepared himself) and works needed to be done 3 months into the renovation work. Writing this review will not change anything but for those who are considering getting this company, please really think about it to avoid the stress we’ve experienced during the renovation works. The amount we saved is very minimal compared to the amount we forked out because of the delays.
