NUS Central Library - 12 Kent Ridge Cres

Today I went to central library to return a book. I did not find the book drops, so I just entered the library to ask. Before I entered the library, I needed to go through the check for green pass. So I asked the lady who checked the green pass where I could return the book. She said, 'there is a book drop outside, but since you are already here, you can return here'. I asked: 'here? which floor?' She said: 'here'. Actually the return counter is just behind her, but she did not tell me directly, just saying 'here'. Anyway, I showed her the green pass and entered library and saw the return counter. Then, I told the return counter lady that I would like to return a book. She said, 'there was a book drop outside', and was reluctant to process my book return. I said, 'your counter has a sign saying 'returns', why cannot I return here'? Then, she looks a bit angry and finally got my book returned, within 10 seconds. The attitudes of library staff are really very very bad! Very disappointed!

One of the best online libraries. I am able to find many journal articles for my study assignments.

Simply one of the top libraries in Singapore and may be in South East Asia. Friendly staff and nice ambience. Huge collection of books etc.

I spend a lot of time in this library when I did my undergrad and post grad studies. It has many books which were not available in other libraries. I did join as a corporate member for a few years too.

The Central Library is the biggest library building, mainly serving the arts and engineering departments. It has a lot of seating spaces in the upper floors (3-6). The same building also houses the NUS Co-op, where one can buy NUS Memorabilia and textbooks. There are also two cafes nearby — the Maxx coffee, just next to the L1 entrance and The Coffee Roasters, which is just behind the Central Library bus stop — to chill and read books.

Beautiful and modern library with a very rich collection of books and ample seating space.

My favourite library in NUS

Very nice library but I wonder who decided to put the noisiest elevator in a library. Every up and down and door opening, the elevator makes these incredibly long and loud signals. You can even hear from 50 meters distance. Having so much noise kind of defeats the purpose of a library. Clearly the designer never used a library in his/her life.
