The soft shell crab curry rice is really good, especially the juicy crab. It used to come with a fragrant purple rice (can't remember what it's called) but now it's just white rice โ˜น๏ธ

Had this saved for awhile now, and finally got a chance to visit since we are in the area ? Ordered the hot chocolate and cold mocha blended while waiting on a late appointment after lunch, and had mixed feelings about the experience. ?The ambience wasnโ€™t very cosy, couple seats were flushed to a side and wasnโ€™t completely relaxing - while the aircon and fans were functioning well, it just didnโ€™t bring about a good balance. โ˜•๏ธ the cashier didnโ€™t asked if we wanted whip cream, and it sort of affected our drink since it was really thick and heavy in smell, even after removing it. That said, the chocolate was still great on its own, rich in flavour all around. Mocha was heavy on the chocolate side too, with an occasional sip of coffee scent. Mixed feelings overall, but would consider returning to try their coffee selection in future - perhaps in their other outlet which I heard has a better ambience.

I was there on a Friday eve after my walk to visit the cosy cafe. Met little Rhys and Kim very friendly and helpful staff. I tried Mocha Azuki Cheese and Okada house blend coffee they are lovely! The cheesw cake is unlike the strong cheese smell as it is homemade, soft and not too sweet! Also i found out there is a coffee time for those 55 years and above at Sgd6 fir coffee and their mochi dessert should try! Also can consider their combo deals meal or try a dish! Not close to MRT though but if you could take a heritage walk and come by and support and try out!

An impromptu visit to Okada Coffee after lunch. I was excitingly wanting to explore some Japanese cakes. Looking at their cakes display, only left 3 flavours. On the menu, there's a matcha burnt cheesecake which caught my attention, upon enquiry realised it's sold out! It was only 130pm! Nevertheless, I just picked the next dessert option, which is the warabi mochi. Their menu offers to order as a dessert set, along with a drink. So, we ordered the Matcha Latte (cold) - need to top up $1. (Total $11) The warabi mochi was served warm & on a Japanese wooden plate! It's matcha flavour too, and i am surprised how oishii it tastes! This is the first time I've having this in Sg. The not so sweet , and not too overwhelming matcha (i afraid of that) makes the mochi really nice. The Matcha Latte is quite normal & pretty milky, also not too strong matcha. Overall, Okada Coffee is nice to chill out & I wish they sell Japanese cheesecake!

One of the most unique cafes I have been to recently. While many cafes differentiate with something new, this cafe has a surprisingly classic feel. Japanese in origin, this shophouse has a simple feel, but the more you look around inside, you note this cafe is anything but simple. Just inside the front door (Thursday-Sunday) they offer fresh Japanese sourdough bread loaf. I tried the seasonal Japanese kabocha pumpkin sourdough, in the shape of a pumpkin. Lightly orange inside with pumpkin bits throughout created a nicely sour flavor with light sweetness. I also tried the Japanese sweet potato sourdough loaf. I was expecting it to look purple inside after eating street vendor hot sweet potatoes in Japan, but it was regular bread color with light colored potato bits and a nice sour edge. I also tried a filter pour over Guatemala Blue Lake bean coffee. It was expertly prepared with temperature measured water, and to my surprise, served in delicate Japanese china cup and saucer set. This really elevated the experience - simple yet elegant. The shop is filled with various Japanese products, vegan friendly items and artwork on the walls. Knowledgeable and handsome staff complete the experience.

Thereโ€™s something characteristically and authentically Japanese about this place. Simple, quiet and clean, the fans and air condition in the shop keep the airflow fresh and rejuvenating for the mind and body. This was our second visit and we tried the warabi mochi which was delicate and sweet. On the first visit we also had some fruit sake, of which there was a large selection to choose from. The staff were helpful and professional. It was a pleasant visit and I would love to come back again.

Nice Japanese concept cafe, reminding you of Japan..Kumamon was on the flower vase! Nice and sweet staff, especially Katrina. Took our feedbacks and our suggestion very seriously from owner Alfred Ang. The Okada House Blend coffee was aromatic, smooth and Japanese! We have Hoji Cha Salmon porridge, Egg Toast, Sourdough Bread, Garlic rice and warabi Mochi on our 2 visits. Have many collection of Japanese omiyage on display where you can buy home if you miss Japan. I wish the deco can be more Japanese and it will be prefect!
