★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super sumptuous and yummy meal from my 151 Joo Chiat Fish Soup! My Mother’s Day dinner! OMG, THEIR STEAMED FISH IS FRESH TILL CAN TAHAN TABAO HOME OSO DUN HV FISHY TASTE! The braised sea cucumber and fish maw with yam is so yums and soft!!! The mini abalone is really value for money, nice and chewy and juz look at the size! It’s not small ok! THUMBS UP!!! 太好吃了！好饱啊！HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ALWAYS AMPLE PORTIONS.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had lunch today with 2 other friends and we ordered the Grouper fish soup with rice, Omelette with Onions, Fried Kangkong and Bitter Gourd with fish. I found all the dishes to be flavorful, well prepared and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and each dish presented very well. The grouper was fresh, firm and so tasty and the broth was magnificent and one could not stop even after 3 bowls. The bitter gourd was sliced thinly which ensured that the flavor was absorbed well and was not bitter at all. The omelette was a bit charred but not too much until one could taste the burnt sides. The Kangkong was very nice and crunchy.
Overall, it was a well balanced meal with excellent cooking, good portions and superb umami.
I would highly recommend this place for hearty wholesome comfort food that even mom and dad would approve.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered pepper crab & fish bee Hoon. Both the crab and the red grouper are very fresh. The dishes we have tried over the last few months so far are all very flavourful & yummy. The restaurant is indeed a hidden gem in Joo Chiat area. The husband & wife and their daughter & son-in-law are friendly & easy going people. Both my wife & I have learnt quite a lot of things from the boss. Really deserve five star rating ?
