I doubt there is a prettier Vegetarian Fried Beehoon out there. And it is by no means a case of style over substance because taste-wise, the #OneKindBeehoon from @one.kind.house, delivered in spades. Cooked by my friend Calvin Soh’s mum, it‘s extraordinarily flavourful in spite of being a healthy dish as the brown rice beehoon is fried together with loads of homegrown vegetables and herbs. The latter alone comprises of three types of basil, gotu kola, mugwort, sawtooth coriander and pepperomia. She also adds eggs, fried beancurd skin and “chye por” to the dish. For the finishing touch, it’s bluepea and chive flowers from #OneKindHouse’s garden. At $60 a tray, it is by no means cheap but I reckon it‘s worth it. After all, there is an abundance of organically-grown greens and blooms used in the cooking. Plus the portion is good for 6 to 7 pax.

When I saw that Mummy Soh's mee siam was available for booking, I didn't waste any time in making sure I got my order in! I'd been disappointed too many times from being a bit slow. This time, I happily shared with 4 other friends and there was plenty to go around! (Did I say I had 2 meals out of this?) We unanimously agreed that it was just so sedap! The gravy was just right, not too sweet or sour. The ingredients were so fresh (what do you expect when the kedongdong and chives were picked from the garden?), and there was a generous amount of yummy prawns, eggs and tau pok. The piece de resistance was the kedongdong sambal (my prize for being the second to put in my order) - it was spicy, had a nice chunky texture, and totally lifted the dish and gave it oomph! None of us had tasted mee siam done this way before. So yummy, we lapped up every drop of the gravy too. If there's any "complaint", it's that we could have done with more gravy :-p But, thank you Mummy Soh for the fantastic treat! <3

The place is located at the heart of a quiet living community in Telok Kurau. It’s okay to have a neighbourhood restaurant but The owner of this place should show respect to the neighbours around. Many times those Guests made lot of noises even at mid night; Many times my kids were woke up by the yelling, Singing and laughing of the guests. No business ethics. No respect to neighbourhood. Pls don’t support this kind of business.

OKH is a place nice for gathering and enjoying home cooked food. BYOB with no corkage which is good. Chef Soh uses natural herbs on all the dishes and home grown vegetables just makes you feel good. For people like us who ate out often, the dishes with simple clean taste is all we need at times. Lots of Q&A from us throughout the dinner. This started with doing something meaningful after retirement. Started off with a passion and for a purpose. Hopefully, the passion won’t died off and hopefully, it will not become a routine for Chef. I guess she has to repeat the same for every group she host. The whole family is friendly, we met the chef’s son and his wife and daughter, and chef’s younger brother. We have fun and love the space.

Amazing private home dining experience. Mummy Soh whipped up a delectable spread of peranakan/nyonya dishes. Most of the vegetables served were homegrown (white bitter gourd, morning glory). The evening started with a tour around the house. During dinner, Mummy Soh played a hospitable and solicitous hostess. She patiently attended to our barrage of questions by explaining how each of the dish was prepared; to sharing her life story as a primary school teacher. BYOB is allowed. The fee = share a glass or two for Mummy Soh :) I enjoyed the whole dining experience tremendously.
