One of the oldest zhi char place in Bishan. Business has always been good as their food is really good. Place is a bit old as they never renovate it over the years. And sometimes their customer service ainโ€™t that good as they are under pressure of handling many customers.

Nice fishhead steamboat offered. Like the soup but find the sliced fish not a lot. 6 pieces in total for the small steamboat of $28. Waiting time was a little Long. Waited abt 20-25 mins for the food to be served.

My colleague recommended this place. It was a weekday night and I suspect the haze so the place wasn't full. Food came in less than 10 minutes after ordering. Pomfret steamboat ? $38 ่™พ้ฅบ hay chou ? $8 + $8 ้ฉฌๆฅ้ฃŽๅ…‰ Malay glory ? $10 Venus clams aka lala ?$12 Rice x2 $2 Total damage: $78 The steamboat I felt a bit over priced for $38 with few slices of fish but more cabbage & yam n also not fish umami enough. If not will get another 2 stars. Prawn rolls aka hay chou was the highlight, we ordered another. Sambal kangkong & lala was good too. With nice dried prawns flavour. Pedas n emak enough. Lala gravy good on rice and the clams fresh & plump enough to find in the gravy and not like some places you suspect they throw in empty shells. Verdict: not bad lah 3/5?

Very affordable and delicious zichar. Highlights were the clams and the prawn rolls (่™พๆ †). Prawn paste chicken and sweet n sour pork were also very yummy and tender. The hor fun was stir-fried to perfection, a sublime mix if wok hei and cai por. Staff were also very friendly. Been here three times in the last two months and never disappointed.

Just beware the chef who cooked the egg was so Raw and food hygiene is not probably done. Deermeat and fry egg we ordered taste very badly. Regret and my son vomiting twice after eating. Food standard drop

Tried their Honey pork chop, lala clams in sambal, tapioca leave, tofu. Nice and tasty. Will be back to try other dishes soon - they recommended their "kway teow with chai poh" which regular clients always order that. One more important thing for us to share is that food is not heavy on salt and has no MSG:) Updated 10 Apr 2022 The food is great. Top marks for the chao poh hor fun! So glad that dining restrictions have been rolled back too.

Fantastic Zi char food with reasonable prices. The fish soup is served in charcoal hotpot. Very authentic and traditional. The service is good. They will come to top up the soup without you asking. I supposed they to offer this whenever they can before it gets too busy. We ordered sambal Kang Kong w squid, prawn roll, fish hotpot and prawn salad. Certainly worth a return! Friendly neighbour Zi char stall!
